Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Sunday 3rd April. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all
Happy Mothers day to those who are celebrating, DS1 & DS2 took me out for a meal yesterday, hubby should have come too, but had an upset stomach so he stayed home in bed.
We went to the Loch Fyne in the center of town, the food was lovely & we had a lot of laughs.
Hubby is feelig a bit better now & he hopes to cut the grass today but we shall see.
Lamb chops for dinner with roast potatoes, carrots, cabbage & broccoli.
Plans for today include some housework & lots of knitting.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

    Morning HH and others.

Another sunny day with lots to do before we can go out. I try to avoid the 'mothering sunday' m'larkey as much as possible.

Today I am trying to only drink water as I seem to drink loads of coffee and tea. Breakfast will be bacon and eggs and we'll probably head out for a drive later on this morning, though I have a Skpye call with my sister-in-law in Australia planned for 11a.m.

Another bag of decluttered stuff is sitting by the front door ready to go out, another bag is ready for the CS and there is a third bag of cardboard for the bin too.

I hope everyone had a good Sunday and that the sun is shining all over the UK!

Happy Mothering Sunday to those who want to celebrate it, Happy first April Sunday to everyone. Our tulips are starting to flower and the magnolia is looking stunning since Friday:)

I saw my Mum yesterday and took her out of the care home to the local Harvester. She particularly likes the pineapple chunks on the salad bar. Her dementia is getting worse but she still enjoys the fuss and attention she gets when we take her on her monthly Harvester visit:)

DH will cook steak for the 4 who will eat it, chicken for the other 4 and beans & wedges for all. I will make the salad. I have already made the peppercorn sauce and just need to locate it in the freezer.

I need to catch up with washing stuff as I was AWOL yesterday.

    Anyhoo, Happy Sunday peeps,
Hugs to those who need or want,
    Cheers m'dears, Silver x

Happy Mothering Sunday to those celebrating and to those who find today difficult extra hugs xxx

Looking like a lovely day today. I have some vegetable plants to put in my raised bed. Was going to do it yesterday but ended up at the hospital with my DD all day. She had excruciating pain in her tummy and a raised markers for inflammation. Anyway she is home for now but back on Monday when she can have the necessary investigations. They are always your babies even when they are all grown up:eek::eek::eek: She is gutted as she was going to see Katy Perry in Birmingham on Monday night but dont think she will be able to now. We are also off to Center Parcs a week on Monday with Mooloo so fingers crossed she will be fit!!!

So OS well Im trying. Probably not succeeding very well so must try harder! I have managed to keep on top of house as cleaner been away and the washing has been out on the line. We have been eating a lot of home-made food and i did make my mum a cake for Mothering Sunday :T:T:T

Have a good day my OS friends xx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Morning. Sun beaming here this morning.

No. 2 son just gone off on a bike ride for an hour, I would have joined him but I need to prepare dinner. Were out this am so time is short. Maybe get a run in this afternoon. I've had such a busy week and not been able to excersise which makes me grumpy as hell!!

BTW it will be sunny all week. Have fun.

Good Morning - and extra special ((HUGS)) to all who may find Mothering Sunday a difficult and painful day. (Mollie, we obviously think alike here!) For those lucky enough to have their Mums to spoil - go ahead and do it! Likewise those lucky enough to be spoiled by their children - enjoy!
My card from DS arrived earlier in the week, I'll open it shortly. I know he is taking his ex partner out to lunch with DGD today, so I hope that goes well.
have some washing hung outside now, but it feels quite cold. As always, Sunday will be a very busy day here, with not too much OSing going on I fear.Whatever you are doing, I hope you have a wonderful day. Take care of yourselves.

Why do I always wake up early at the weekend :(?

Am let off Mothers Day as my mum is in Australia, can't ring her as she's in the outback somewhere!! It's not Mothers Day there today anyway. We'll have to do it at Easter when they're back.

So it's on with my never ending to do list. Must do some HW but will be outside while it's nice. Think it's due to rain later which is a shame but will make my newly planted seeds and flowers happy.

    Hope everyone enjoys their Sunday.

Happy Mothers day and extra (((hugs))) to all those who find it difficult. I already got my flowers from DS and DD but will wait for the 15 year old to surface before I get my card...lol
Got to take him to rugby practice later, see MIL for mothers day and drop her an FIL at train station at lunch time. The nothing else planned except washing, ironing and tidying. Hopefully it'll stay dry and I can get out to the garden. Need to get the front all tidied and weeded between the patio as I bought a new bench for out there but refuse to put it out till it's tidied;)
Have a wonderful day whatever you're doing

Morning all and Happy Mothers Day!

Girls are all still fast asleep and ds stayed over at a friend's last night, so I'm enjoying a cup of Early Grey, Gok and a bit of peace! ds has promised to be back in time, and in a decent state, for a roast later! Sun is shining as the weatherman promised, so it looks like a lovely day, kids will push for a bbq again, but I really fancy a nice roast, and have the world's largest leg of pork defrosted and ready to go!

OS stuff will involve someone else hopefully, though I have shoved a load into wash already - I want to get the towels out on the line cos I love the smell! Am hoping to go for a mooch around the garden centre, though it'll be heaving with coach parties no doubt, but I'd like to get a few bits and some more pots and mud!

Time for a catch up now, and poss another cuppa! Have a good day all xxx

    Morning All

Unfortunately 4 year olds do not get the concept of sleeping in on Mother's Day!! DD is still coughing badly but she did stay in her own bed last night and after three nights in with me it was bliss!

Didn't get any MS work done yesterday as DD really wasnt well enough to take out so I think my Mother's Day treat today should be DH looking after the kids for a couple of hours while I [STRIKE]escape [/STRIKE] pop out and get the three local shops done. Might even pick up the 4 dine for £15 from M&S and pad it out a bit with more veg and spuds.

DS1 cleaned the kitchen for me yesterday and I think DH and I will be gutting the lounge today as neither of us have lifted a finger on the cleaning front all week!

    Enjoy your Sunday x
