NEW TO US
Any interest is vested one way or another, as you would not care enough to make a comment if it was not. I can safely say I am not interested in ebid - the only vested interest I have on the subject is the truth.
(Gosh, this thread is so funny, the contributions from illiterate ebid sellers who see potential buyers as stalkers and support suppressing the truth about a dishonest seller, is woefully funny. They don't appear to understand the concept of what an auction is, maybe they should tell ebid to redesign itself as a price offered/ accepted one, oh, that's right, gumtree already exists and has lots of fraudsters on it too.)
Sounds like you do not have a vested interest.
And as to your forum etiquette, if you read through the thread from the start, the thread was being argued as a forum should until the fifth post and the "forum etiquette" took over and basically destroyed any discussion, as those people your "forum etiquette" was attacking took offense to it.please report any abusive posts as per the rules you agreed when you joined this site
I did
To me your "forum etiquette" basically destroyed what could have been a good and informative discussion on neutral ground. I disagree, how can you have neutral discussion when you state there are vested interests?
Wrong point?
Instead all the post turned into what was the paranoia of the "forum etiquette" and the strange thing about it, you said it so much that your other regulars began to believe it and then began to blame those new to this site rather than seeing it for what it was and just a few oversensitive members paranoia. I see it as an attempt by disillusioned ebid sellers trying hard to claw back their lifetime membership fee by ignoring the OP's case.
again, what was wrong with my first post?
That is a problem for this site that you need to fixwhy? MSE is worth considerably more than ebid, and works because of the collective effort of people wanting to SAVE money (clue is in the site's name) Your posts have just helped confirm why buyers should steer clear of ebid
Again, that vested interest showing, which you were not supposed to have. And that's the truth0 -
"OK, we'll have to agree to disagree on that one too. But you did say in one of your previous posts that both their totals had been wiped clean which is clearly not the case so clearly the outcome was not equal and not fair to both parties."
yes both totals have been wiped clean otherwise they would show -1 -2 respectively the total is the number of fb witch is zero for both so the seller in fact with negative comments remaining has come off the worst, there is really a problem here for people to understand the difference between fbtotals and comments0 -

Here how come we are both on together?
After hearing it so much I was starting to believe we were the same person.

- just as no-one is forcing me to use ebid!
I'm done with this thread (for now at least). Things have gone round and round and the 2 sides are never going to agree.
I will just say that personally I won't use ebid with the way it is at the moment. Why? Mainly because there are not enough buyers for the volume of sales I would want (and you can argue until you're blue in face that there is!) but also because of the way ebid settled this buyer/seller situation.
I know you won't agree (and I'm sure you're glad I won't be using ebid) but I don't like the way ebid handled it and personally I think that sort of thing puts buyers off. Thats my opinion, which I am entitled to, and every other reader of this thread (and the many others about ebid all over the internet) will make up their own minds if they want to use ebid or not.
Personally, despite its many flaws, I'll be sticking with ebay (and eventually my own website once its up and running) as I know I can, and I am, making a good living from it.
As for my supposed failed ebid deal that you were on about - seeing as you haven't come up with any details, we'll just say you made a mistake as we both know it wasn't true.
Happy ebidding/ebaying/amazoning/playtrading/etc'ing!!!0 -

think youl find you did say it and youl also notice i said in a earlier post you were vauge at the time and thinking about it some more you actualy back tracked from saying it, its irelavent to me if you use ebid or not if one seller does not fill a gap another will the first to be established in a B +M shop or internet mall often gets the most business lack of buyers good one theres no argument there i bet half the auction sites in the world cry that one, ebay spam the whole world to attract new and old customers but what you ebay diehards dont seem to realise is the whole internet shopping world is changing people do look around more than ever now as far as ebid goes its growing ive helped it grow! ive got regular customers so have many others the stats tell the story of new members every day, your own web site great idea but the problem with web sites is your never gonna get the traffic that a large established sites gets you just wont be able to compete with ebid ebay ect ect sure you might entice exsisting customers over, but youl run into other problems that way, like why should i buy there when every thing i want is on ebay, ebid , you and many others wont be able to offer the incentive to do so, how many times do we see it on ebid forums "i cant make a sale" after a little chate with the new seller turns out they list the exact same things every were else! so they dont offer any incentive for buyers to sign up, so thats why they fail its not the sites fault it boils down to greed trying to attract the same customers for the same product in 6 or 7 venues just doesent work.

as i said it makes no difference to me if you use ebid or not, but your biased opinion about a site that you dont even use or have not tried is what lets yu down. too very new ebid users cant use the site properly and you make a judgement on that, it really sounds to me you have little confedence in your own product as i pointed out in are chat a year ago. any site is just a host for a product/seller its your product and the way YOU deal with your customers that count and make sales if you cant exsist outside a shopping mall then your gonna find it hard work going it on your own [ for the reasons ive already stated]0 -

Martin did you see the PM i sent you and no it wasent abus:eek:ive0 -
I'm not going to discuss ebid with you anymore - its pointless as we will never agree. We'll have to agree to disagree on everything ebid related and leave it at that.
I will however defend myself over what is either a genuine case of mistaken identity or a blatant lie...scotchebidder wrote: »"As for my supposed failed ebid deal that you were on about - seeing as you haven't come up with any details, we'll just say you made a mistake as we both know it wasn't true."

I had only just started selling as a business on eBay a year ago and had never even heard of ebid back then!as i pointed out in are chat a year ago.
You can't back any of this up so we'll put it down to a genuine mistake because I know you wouldn't be daft enough to make it up for effect0 -

NEW TO US To you you and your friends, everyone on this thread, or United States? I read it as everyone on this thread, we've had previous threads on eBid (see earlier posts)

Sounds like you do not have a vested interest. Care to elaborate what my vested interest is? My posts still stand, this thread remains very funny

I did Thanks, that's how this forum works.
To me your "forum etiquette" basically destroyed what could have been a good and informative discussion on neutral ground. I disagree, how can you have neutral discussion when you state there are vested interests?
Wrong point? Care to elaborate - how can you have a neutral discussion with such vested interests?

again, what was wrong with my first post? To be honest, I thought it was a constructive post, if a little difficult to follow, I don't think I attacked or argues against it, happy to be proved wrong

Again, that vested interest showing, which you were not supposed to have. And that's the truth Again, please explain what you see as my vested interest as opposed to the truth. A claim has been made that MSE needs to be fixed, I have pointed out the difference in success, mission and value between ebid and MSE and why, in my opinion why buyers should steer clear of ebid
Any comments on your accusations that MSE is funded by advertising?Originally Posted by shortcrust
