eBid support happy for seller to relist after he wasn't happy with auction price

Semantics. Can you see what people have been saying though about where it is positioned and not being easily visible? - genuine question. It is apparently in a place that any potential buyer will not go looking for by default unless they know about it. So for all intents and purposes it has been buried enough to have been essentially 'covered up'.0

At the end of the day, it smacks of a cover up of sorts. Ebay would do the complete opposite and the seller would still have that neg feedback now, genuine mistake or not. And before you say 'I love ebay', please realise that I'm the first to slag ebay off if I think it deserves it - hell, I was even party to a campaign on here to try and get a better deal for ebay sellers!! There is so much I hate about ebay but I make a good living from it because there are so many buyers.
Ebid desperately needs more buyers - but they will put buyers off by over-protecting the sellers as they have done in this example. There needs to be a middle ground and neither ebid nor ebay have got it spot on in my opinion, but ebay has got it more right than ebid and has got the volume of buyers and thats all that really matters at the end of the day.
*edit* I'm still interested to know more about this deal you said I tried with ebid!0 -
I think you are very much confusing your opinion with the facts. The forum regulars, whoever you wish to define them as, are not the ones looking bad on this thread. They continue to act with decorum and honesty. This particular sub forum has some of the most helpful strangers I've met on the site.
Ebid must look at this site's membership with envy, MSE goes from strength to strength saving people money whether it be unfair parking charges, bank charges, food bills, unscrupulous auctioneers etc etc.
The way the site is financed is clearly linked to at the bottom of every page, and it is NOT paid for by advertising.
Any other mistakes you care to make?
Decorum
new member, 0 posts, where have I seen this before...? Oh yes 'spam type posts' soolin was referring to...
soolin you must have obviously got it all wrong on ebid as everyone else is doing soooo well there!
how many more "first timers" are we going to get before a 'real' MSE'er turns up to support ebid?
Please poster, stop signing up as a new user to post again and again.....
PS even thanking yourself....?
Decorum more like PARANOIA
And this, folks, is why ebid will never take off.
Decorum? That to me, looks like someone with their own agenda
.new poster number four...
never seen so many new poster in one thread, all genuine I'm sure
I'm not biased against ebid one way or another, competition for ebay can only be good, but what is happening on this thread is definitely helping me making up my mind for good. And not because of the OP's complaint.
Nothing had actually happened other than people trying to discuss the topic that were blatantly attacked due to decorum = PARANOIA.
You have a lot of terms for this PARANOIA
Okay, assuming you are genuine, can you really not see that you are doing the site you oh so love a great disservice.
When a poster who has been around for a while posts in favour of something, it is safe to assume they are just on the forum and are giving their two cents on it. It is not as simple to assume that when a new poster pops up, solely to praise or defend a certain company, that it is a random internet person who feels the need to do this. The probability of it being someone with a vested interest is greater.
When multiple posters join solely to defend a company, the laws of probability dictate it even more unlikely that tthese people were all just browsing, randomly came across the thread at the same time, and all felt the need to post broadly similar comments on solely the one thing.
Put simply, even if you are genuine in this case, the balance of probability suggests you are not. That is why it is good forum etiquette to point this out to people who might not realise, and would take trickery at face value
In other words the only people we listen to on this site will be our friends. So please stop talking you have no right to an opinion.
Anybody else get the impression these new posters are clever ebay staff?
Self explanatory
Genuine as in with no vested interests or reason to post anything dishonest.
So now we are dishonest
We have no evidence to believe you are not a ebid plant. Didn't stop you taking the hump, did it?
More of that decorum PARANOIA
Completely agree. I have never bought anything on eBid, but the attitudes of the ebid sellers posting in this thread have made sure I will never touch that site with a bargepole.
So this one is allowed to discuss something he does not even have anything to do with, as he admits he has never bought on ebid, so has no reason to even discuss it. Ebay boards style "call your friends."
I don't have 'my own support staff'.
And anyone can give a different email address each time and open as many IDs as they wish. Unless you've given your name, address and proof of ID to MSE? I didn't.
Personally I welcome new posters who join MSE because they need advice, or they have something to contribute.
We may be getting one new poster every now and again, let's say this thread as a higher than usual number of 'new' posters, and let's leave it at that.
This poster started on my first post, which indicates this site does not get any visitors if one sets off their alarm bells.
when someone can only resorts to insults to win an argument, it's always a good sign :j
ebid staff or ebid seller, I don't think you realise the damage you are causing to ebid
Then they have the cheek to try and act offended after all they have said to or about me.
Unless of course, if the people/person in question has an internet connection that uses dynamic IP addresses, (as do the majority of ISP's), in which case checking this out wouldn't be of any use whatsoever.
Still going with that paranoia
There seems to be some sort of ebid campaign spreading round forums in attempt to big the site up. Whether its the owners or just loyal followers I don't know, but they are going about it all wrong and just making ebid look silly!
More of that decorum = PARANOIA
I think I might bid on it then refuse to pay, anyone wanna join me? I don't mind if I get banned by ebid, never buy from there anyway.
And the final showing of that decorum, which really makes me wonder when it starts, either that or decorum is a different beast on this site.
I just wonder do you all have your own rose coloured glasses or do you share a pair between you?
I just thanked you for that question as some idiot has added a photograph that has just sent the page off all over the place. I asked them politely if they would adjust it. But it must be a regular and they are being controlled by decorum, so have to ignore me.0 -
As I said, semantics. It was 'removed' from the normal view that any buyer would expect to see it.
Thats 2 clicks that most potential buyers would not make. They would see the 0% neg feedback and that would be it.

"Thats 2 clicks that most potential buyers would not make"
thats a asumption on your part.

not a cover up but a chance given to both new members, there totals were wiped clean but the comments remained i think ebid handled it as fairly as they could the so called buyer could of ended up with negs too so if ebid had not interviend of course if he had negative fb it would not just of been on here we would of heard about it no doubt hed of got a slot on the 10 oclock news aswell, i would conceed if both were experenced on ebid to buying and selling then the count should of remained the same, i will not conceed that the buyer was looking for something for nothing and he should of put the record here straight when the fb was actualy there to be seen

*edit* It is grossly unfair that the buyer has been left with 2 neutrals from this when he did nothing wrong and the seller has a clean slate, don't you think?
Any details on this deal I supposedly had with ebid that failed? I'm genuiniely dying to know more.0 -
I guess we will just have to agree to disagree on that.

no i dont agree because he had negs to begin with they were reduced to nuetrals so i think hes been treated very fairly theres a lot the chancer has not told people here, only ebid support know the full details and as he cant even conceed to telling the truth when asked over 2 days ago i would never trust this guy or what he has to say. ive seen enough forum abuse on this site to take with a pinch of salt what most of them say, i also noticed no one hear comdemed that post that threatened to auction wreck on ebid that post has done REAL harm to this sites reputation as far as im concerned how can the established members here alow that !0 -

Still waiting for the details about my failed ebid deal. If it was a case of mistaken identity then say so, because the suspense is killing me otherwise!!0 -
