Best mobile deal with free iPad

Hi gang

I'm almost at the end of my contract with Tesco mobile; just 3 weeks to go. I currently have an iPhone (which I'd like to keep), but I'd like an iPad - the original is fine.

I'm thinking I could go for a contract (12 or 18 months) whereby you get a free iPad and handset, but use the SIM in my iPhone and give the handset to my son to use, as a SIM only or PAYG deal.

I don't mind which service provider I use. Ideally the contract will be £30 or less, and have unlimited data, unlimited texts and at least 200 mins of free calls per month.

Does this sound a sensible approach? Will the iPad data be charged to my mobile account? (which would hopefully be nothing, if the contract is unlimited)

Have you heard of any good deals? I'm trawling through sites but it's laborious. I wondered if anyone had looked for this sort of thing recently.

I thought the iPad contract was separate to any Mobile Phone contract and therefore only got 'X' about of data per month and no Mins or Text. unless there are doing some form of package.

But an iPad bought this way will workout very expensive, £30 over 18 months is £450 plus I'd guess they may charge you £100+ for the iPad upfront.

Workout the total cost and compare it with buying an iPad direct with a separate Sim, also think how much 3G data you will use per month, do you have wifi?

There is no such deal like this around..sorry

The best we got was the Ipad 16g 3g for free and pay £20 per month for the 15 gig allowance every month.:)

If you take the cost of the Ipad from what we will pay over 24m.

Apple refurbished 16g 3g = £389 - £480 =£91 \24m=£3.79 is the cost of our data.:)

And that I do believe is cheap.
