In post #8 the poster put, "It's cheaper to ring an 0870 number than ring direct to either their Irish or Filapino call centres".
My point was I called the Ireland number via 1899, and was charged at 0ppm, ergo making it cheaper to call the Irish number.
There is also the London number in post #9.Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
00353, I missed an 0 off the beginning, (from Paypals contact us page, "You can also call PayPal Customer Services directly on 00 353 1 436 9004"), but as has been stated between your post and this, it does work re my answer to post #8.
Yes, that number may well work, but it is NOT a Northern Ireland number and it will NOT be included in any 01/02/03 free call package.0 -

Sorry I didn't see any previous reference to 1899 [presumably some sort of pre-dialler discounter??].
I thought that you were saying 00353 wasn't 'international' code [which could be an expensive mistake!!!].Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Ring the London number for eBay and it puts you through that's what I did0

I saw no mention to 1899 in your original post and calls to Ireland with 1899 are NOT 0.0p/min. anyway! There is a 4p connection charge on international calls followed by a 1p/min. charge for calls to the Irish Republic.0 -

Still cheaper than calling 0870, which was my intention as per my reply to post #8.
It was early last year, and I am pretty certain I was only charged the conn fee, had a look for the invoice, but it hasn't gone back far enough
. Sorry for not putting ref to 1899 originally, but I thought the savvy moneysavers on here would have sussed that.he invoice.

The only person that is not 'savvy' is yourself. By that I mean:
1. You think Dublin is in Northern Ireland
2. You think the dialling code for Dublin is 0353
3. You think that calling a Dublin number is charged at the same rate as UK 01/02/03 calls.
You expect us to deduce from these three pieces of incorrect information that you are with a phone provider called 1899? What gobbledygook!!0 -
