I recently bought £ 150 of software online. When the disks arrived unlike th new, licensed boxed products advertised I received some illegal copies.
I contacted the seller and just got emails bounced back. I used the email address logged with PayPal and got no response within a week.
I raised a complaint with PayPal via their site and received an email confirming receipt. Shortly after that I receive one saying they were investigating. 7 minutes later I received a further email telling me the claim had been closed and I wasn't going to get a refund. They gave no explanation.
I then raised a complaint with PayPal to ask why they had closed the claim, all I got was an email telling me to ring them on an 0870 number. So I went through the process again requesting a written (letter or Email) reply as I didn't want to fund them via an 0870 for bad service and would want a written record anyway. Same standard email.
I can't see an address to write or a way of emailing them where I might get a response of a person who's actually read it.
Unless anyone has any good ideas about how to get a proper response from them it looks like I have been successfully ripped off.
I would definitely NOT recommend PayPal.

Yep there are a few listed, put Paypal into the search box HERE.

You won't fund them as 0870 are non revenue sharing numbers, (have been for over 12 months), I can't see the point of these organisations still using 0870 numbers as it now costs them to receive calls on these numbers!
Some Telcos,(including BT), now include 0870 in their phone packages.

It's cheaper to ring an 0870 number than ring direct to either their Irish or Filapino call centres.
So I'd ring.
If using a telephone is beyond you, just do a chargeback."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

The number for Dublin, 035314369004, is a NI number and costs the same as 01/02/03 numbers, I know this is correct as I had to call them last year.
There is also this number,020 8605 3000, option 1 to be put through to PayPal (same as calling through 0870 number)
0870 numbers, depending on provider will cost more than 01/02/03 numbers and definitely do from mobiles.

OP, you have tried through Paypoo, try a claim through Ebay.
You will need to open a dispute and select 'Item not as described', then in the box asking for details, just put 'Item is fake'.Never Knowingly Understood.

try a claim through Ebay.
It may not have been an ebay purchase as all the OP stated was that they bought online.
Before too much useful advice can really be given, the OP needs to clarify a few points.
Was it an ebay purchase?
Did you fulfill all the requirements for Paypal buyer protection?
Was the software priced at about what you would expect for the genuine product?
How did you fund the paypal payment?0
