Sky magazine £1.75 charge from January

I phoned Sky up months ago to downgrade my package to the bare minimum. The guy on the phone said if we did that we wouldnt be entitled to the free mag anymore. Fair enough i said.
Many months later and we are still getting the mag every month. But the same as most of you, it goes straight in the bin :rolleyes:

I've just rung and cancelled mine - and confirmed that my subscription decreases by £1.75 in Jan 07.

Apart from my request not appearing to be on the script of the calltaker (who sounded like he might be abroad somewhere) and the fact he kept putting me on hold - he did eventually confirm my request and confirm when asked, what my new subscription would be in Jan.

However, as with all things Sky - I never believe it until it happens.

Just reading hte Sky t+c's on the website, havent phoned yet as a big queue, looks like the price of the magazine has dropped from £2. to £1.75

• If you receive a customer magazine, it will be supplied by BSkyB Publications Ltd and £2 of your package price is payable by you for it. However if you receive the magazine, Sky will discount your Subscription Payment by the price of the magazine so you will pay the same total amount whether or not you receive a magazine.

I bet this will change any second. They will treat it like sky+ and say "well, if you get the mag you get a discount of £1.75, but if you don't want it then you won't get the discount" Same crap they do with Sky+, unbelievable fiddle!

I just did the same and they also confirmed that my sub would drop by £1.75 in January. Will have to see what they bill in the new year

Just got off the phone to Sky it was the indian call centre, he said the letter was a mistake :rolleyes: and the magazine is free, will have to ring another day as he didnt really have a clue what i was on about when i was saying i didnt want the magazine and would rather have £1.75 knocked off my subs

If you ask me, Sky should pay us for allowing them to send all those ads to us !

They should give you the discount for receiving the magazine !
