I am preserving away ready for you rifling through the cellar!

_pale_ Did I miss something? Have I inadvertently stepped into the middle of some kind of maniacs meeting place?

Or do I just read too much Jo Nesbo?

We made it although poor car did struggle up the hills with it's humungously heavy load.

Took an hour to get past Stonehenge - always an irritant, if people want to go visit then do so, don't just dawdle past at 10mph when the rest of us are actually trying to get somewhere.

Loving the A38 though - will never use A30 from M5 again, the road was almost empty & we made up all the lost time. Cottage is very sweet; tiny, all slopey & crooked with slanting floors - DDs heart will be in fab condition as her fett are about a foot higher than her head :rotfl:. I've had to sit on the upstairs windowsill to get a signal but that's ok. There was a lovely cream tea waiting for us when we arrived - caretaker has bakery business so homemade scones & bread are very yum. I feel my meatballs & oatbran may go home again untouched ;)

We've explored the town & it's very pretty with a river, parks, nearby castle which we intend to visit & plenty of foodie places including a co op store which is great. We plan to hit the beach tomorrow if weather fine but not too far as the drive did tire me a bit.

I have a glass of cider awaiting me downstairs so will return again at some point.

    bye for now
    xx

Just a comment Lula made about me! No mania required - preserving = jam and chutney making nothing more!

I'm glad you made it, Lula - sorry its just as I'm getting back, but it was fab catching up on your posts of the last week all in one go :D

Hope you can post a little bit while you're there - never occurred to me to take a dongle :o if I do have the same sort of holibob again next year, I'll definitely do that, it would help with certain sanity issues :j

Have a lovely, lovely time with your not-so-little DD :)
