13 Moons part 2 - Freebird & Frugabulous

Just checked my bank balance & salary has gone in which is great as I've just written out the cheque for the childminder & would hate to go into overdraft
.
Had a great day today; getting far too used to lying in & reading so tomorrow will be nasty shock though. No sign of the supposed storms & rain so I got the washing on & hung it all out in the sunshine.
Checked the veggie patch & was very upset to see that there are no signs of life other than the leeks, so I decide to just sow some more seeds. I have no idea if it's too late but sprinkled a load more carrot & parsnip seeds anyway & watered thoroughly.
The netting is keeping all the kitties off the patch, although next doors cat has taken up residence in the pink green house & is always on the top shelf.
We went to the pet store to get some more food for our furry beast & was delighted to receive some free cat treats. I did tell the guy that our east was very fussy, but he assured me that ALL cats love these treats. He gave me 11 bags in 3 different flavours.
Next stop was town & I was furious to discover that not only has free sunday & bank holiday parking on the street disappeared , but that all the prices have gone up & the charges are now 70p for half an hour . I was so hacked off that I decided to park in the shopping car park instead. We were so late that we decided to do the exhibition another day when we didn't have to rush about shops as well.
We got DD some books, a new t-shirt, cushion for her room & I resisted all the make up in boots, all the shoes in tk maxx, all the clothes in all the shops & came away with only a £3.30 parking fee & a tiny £1 make up bag :A. I didn't want to break into the crisp shiny notes that are in my pocket money purse; I have a thing for brand new uncreased notes & love to have a stash of them.
So, it's back to the gruesome grindstone tomorrow & 3 days of dodging the hands of Gropey too.
Home-job boss was delighted when I offered to work this week & I have a nasty feeling it will be for the 3 days too. No complaining though, the more I do the quicker I can pay off the CC & get started on the dream boat fund :j
I've stayed up far too late for a school night & am so much more suited to being a night owl rather than an early bird; I love the silence & solitude of night.
Bye for now

Well done! And well done finding cheaper parking too - even £3.30 is enough!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Hello again,
This morning was a gruesome reminder of the reality of working for a living. There I am at 8.30 on a beautiful sunny day, dropping my child off to spend the day with another mummy, at my own expense, just so that I can & spend the day with the unholy trinity of G .
It doesnt sound right at all, BUT she had a great time, I earned a few squid & as expected, she was so tired when we got home that she just wanted to lounge in front of the tv meaning I could get on with home-job without feeling guilty & earn a few more squid toward holiday.
It was Inspirational Dude s last day & Cute Young Design Dude organized a whip round to get him some Oz dollars to buy stuff for their new home. Thought that was a great idea & happily contributed £10. I am still classing today as a NSD though, as the money came from my presents fund.
I missed out on the drinks but sadly, realised that I'd rather stay home & earn some extra money on a school night & can always have drinks with guys another time in a local establishment.
Gropey has spun his whiskey bottle or consulted the Goblin Queen's mystic guide & decided that this week it's my turn to be on the receiving end of his moodiness. I love it as it means I don't have to think of cunning ways not to be 'reassured' or patted :j.
I've done plenty of surveys this evening & also won a book on ebay for £3 including P&P but it wont actually cost me anything as I have money in my paypal account.
I'm still trying to decide whether to bid on a pretty black & white spotty dress ... It will be perfect for daywear on hol & I have plenty of things to wear with it.
Grumpy & Gropey are out all day tomorrow so just La Goblina & myself in the office & I have very little work to do.
Forgot to mention yesterday that I received another £2 coin so I have added that & 3 x gold ones to my pot which now has £145 in it. Still another £205 to find & only another 6 months to go.
Yet another challenge to conquer - bring it
G'night

Don't go near the spotty dress (shrieked in a terrified voice) it doesn't have to end that way!

So, here I am wearing a fetching outfit of shorts & vest top pyjamas & the new FABBIER THAN FABIO McFABSTER FROM FAB VEGAS shoes & already I have learnt that this is not the sort of thing you want to be wearing whilst trying to catch & evict 8 legged fiends with googly eyes .
I think this is an omen to tidy up my shoes. I'm very good at hanging clothes up but I do tend to scatter my shoes across the bedroom floor. I was just about to start typing & I sensed movement out of the corner of my eye ... there it was googly eyes quivering & I could hear it thinking " here we go, eight pairs of them, 8 feet to put in them, result
".
Anyway back to THE shoes. They are gorgeous :heartpuls , even better in reality & so far - very comfortable. Just, not really ideal for sneaking around & running up & down stairs :rotfl:.
DD has had a great time this week & if off to the cinema with a friend tomorrow evening. I've not enjoyed work too much. Gropey & Grumpy were out all day yesterday & when I arrived the Goblin was all flustered & panicky as she couldn't find a months worth of her billing.
Having described it as being in one of those hanging folders it seemed logical that the dozy mare had just filed it in the wrong place. It was in the 3 rd drawer I looked in - next to the drawer where it should have been & I was actually more surprised that it hadn't occurred to her to look for it in there than I was at my immediate reaction to help her out.
Afterwards I realised that this would have been a prime opportunity to get my own back ... but I was very proud of myself for not being a vicious, vengeful, grudge-bearing b!tch. I guess that makes the bigger person - hell yeah, I'm the one wearing the 4 & a 1/2 inch leopard print, suede & patent shoes
Grumpy has asked me to source a load of equipment for a project & I spent most of today playing on tinternet. As I was leaving, he dropped the bombshell that he was on holiday next way ... leaving me on my own with Gropey & the Goblin :eek:_pale_. I now fully expect to get loads of grief all week.
Will worry about that nearer the time as lots of good things are occurring too. Apart from the luscious shoes, I received the free railcard today :T so will get cheaper travel for Hard Rock Calling & for the next 2 months. I also received my co op membership reward in the form of £15 worth of vouchers.
It has been NSD 2 of the June challenge & my fridge is almost bare. I have 4 mini tomatoes, a small block of cheese, half a pot of yoghurt, half a pint of milk & 2 lettuce. This is great because it means that we have used up everything & nothing has gone to waste :j.
Tomorrow however, we need to do a Tatco shop, but with our hol only 7 weeks away & an urgent need to save as much money as I can for spending, I am determined to keep the grocery spends low, low, low, low.
Yes I know, you've heard it all before. I am on a health mission at the moment. I have my target weight & size in my mind & will keep fighting until I get there. I have pledged to try to just eat 'real' food & not to eat any of the following until I get to that size/weight:
Cakes, Biscuits, Crisps, Sweets, Chips or Chocolate.
I am eating at least 5 portions of fruit & veg per day & allowing myself a maximum of 3 coffees.
I am not rationing booze as I now realize that I'd rather have a Gordon or glass of wine than a cake, but rarely drink on a school night anyway so that should help.
I have another big bag full of clothes & books to take to the charity shop so will do that tomorrow to keep the karma flowing.
Need to finish my book before sleeping so will report back with spends tomorrow
G'night

Morning! You're really getting a sense of what works for you in all this, aren't you - erm, except for fiends trying on your new shoes _pale__pale__pale_ sorry to hear about that ... I expected to have loads of fiends when I came down this morning, because of habitat disruption  by the bits of building work, but so far, nada. I'm a happy bunny about that :j2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Good evening lovely people,
It's friday, DD is out with a friend & I have wine :j.
It's been a bit of a manic shopping day today. First stop was Tatco where I spent a very scary amount but not all on food. DD needed some stationery bits & then we saw some socks & tops for her ... it got a bit out of control. I got some more mascara as my usual one was suspiciously cheap & also a new colour lippie which I'm really pleased with- much lighter for summer.
It wasn't all about shopping though as I have now devised a new challenge to be known as the Tatco Shoe Challenge. Having got halfway around the store, I was overcome with intense foot pain. It seems that I have discovered yet another pair of my lovely shoes that are unwearable for more than an hour.
Now, much as I love pretty shoes that may not always look practical, I do expect to be able to walk about in them for an hour without being in agony. If I can't then I dont think I should be wearing them at all, because they are clearly not doing my feet any good. My idea is to subject all my heeled shoes to an hour's shopping & if they hurt to the extent that I would happily go barefoot, then I'm not wearing them anymore & they will be charitized.
Back to the money; the groceries in Tatco came to £46.77 & we then headed home so I could sink another coffee & unpack all the goodies & remove the torturous shoes.
Tatco was lacking in certain items & to counteract the horribleness of the whole experience, we loaded the car with the stuff to be charitized & headed off to lovely Waitrose. Total grocery spend in there was £32.14 & we are now fully stocked up with tins, pasta, squash, packed lunch stuff for DD & myself, fresh fruit, veg & dairy stuff.
Delivered our goods to the charity shop ( including the glossy red shoes from last year & the ones I only wore once to a wedding) & yet again received instant karma in the form of a really pretty brand new dress for me, a pair of jeans that were exactly the same as the ones on ebay that I bid on but lost - half the price & a denim skirt & book for DD. Total spend on clothes today was £16.95 on me & £14.95 on DD. What with that & my make up bits, I decided to pay £40 cash in to the bank from my pocket money. Having topped it up with home-job wages today ... it's now back down to £70.
On arriving home I discovered a bank form to be filled in for the piano lesson refund so sent that off immediately - which will bring in another very welcome £100.
I have paid a large sum to the CC to compensate for today's shopping & the balance is now £1700 - very neat
Plans for the rest of the weekend involve stripping beds, doing laundry, lots of cleaning & hopefully catching up with lovely people.
A list is on it's way ... but for now I'm off to update the sig.
Back soon
