Hiring is a great idea! The only issue I'd have with an old-ish campervan is not having my own loo, and having to go *out* to the toilet block possibly v late at night :( I'm such a wimp.

I'm going to a holiday cottage in Norfolk in July! With my sister and my mum .... we went last year, and it was lovely, really gorgeous. We're going to make time to see Sutton Hoo this year, as well as the rellies.

As far as cheap hotels are concerned - travelodge *are* the cheapest, but premier inn are **nice** hotels - and if you get a £29 room, then its a really ace price for a really nice room and common parts too. We've stayed in them recently as a family for good events and bad, and they've been wonderful.

Thinks .... I've been wondering about my own little camper van dream - you know, I never drove regularly after I passed my test ... I may have to buy a boat :cool::cool:

Hula - both dreams will need a 'dream fund' so although you might not be sure of which dream at the moment, you can start getting on your way by saving for it :)

If you've not seen it the following thread about people saving for their self-sufficiency/smallholding dreams is really nice to read through.

Have you asked around about borrowing a tent, it's amazing how many tents are hidden away and never used.

What I really hate is how I cannot seem to sustain any form of healthy eating & exercise programme beyond 5 days :wall:. All weight loss / fitness results are short lived & I seem to be caught on a loop. Having lost 8lbs .... I've regained 4 .

    xx

I totally understand on that one....I'm the same. I did brilliantly once on the sonoma diet and then for some reason or another - Xmas or hols can't remember I then fell off the wagon and couldn't get back on. Shamefully my big reason for going on the diet wasn't to be healthier or anything, it was just to stop feeling guillty about what I ate. I was just fed up with the self-loathing and the guilt that I was feeling when I ate rubbish food....

I read in last months Elle about some amazing book that 're-programmes' you so that you no longer crave all the unhealthy rubbish and I was all set to order it on Amazon until I vaguely remembered buying a similar book last year....oh yes, that one that I read two chapters of and put down never to be read again....:o:o

Anyway onto more exciting things, I love that Vanilla Splits website, how cute! I'm loving all the yurt websites that I appear to be on mailing lists for . The ones I've seen are very glamourously furnished and look like so much fun. And not at all basic!!
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

    Hello lovelies,

I've been absent due to home-job work again but now I don't have to do any for another 11 :jdays so you wont be able to get rid of me :p.

I've been a paragon of virtue; monday, tuesday & wednesday were NSDs meaning I'm now only needing one more to hit target :D.

Was meant to be out boozing with the lovely boys tonight, but the date has been changed to next tuesday ... so I probably wont be able to go unless they stay local so I can whizz out for a couple of hours. Embarassingly, I'm kinda relieved as I now have £75 pocket money & will probably keep it for while, rather than blowing the whole lot in one night & then being skint for the next few weeks :o.

Work is usual - Grumpy veering between biting my head off & offering to do rude things for me. Goblin came back yesterday & I was actually pleased to see her as I was on the verge of slapping Gropey. The man is a lunatic of epic proportions. He opens his mouth & the craziness just pours out; wave after wave of lies, embellishment, fantasy & contradictions.

The new computer system is hilarious & I'm finding faults or ommissions with every step of the process. I'm very amused by the fact that I was purposely excluded from every set up & input meeting & every subsequent amendment & yet will be the main user of the system & have found glaring mistakes from start to finish :rotfl:.

When the idea of the new system was first floated, I made it clear that I had experience of using these systems & would happily take on the task of entering all the data, but was shouted down & my previous knowledge dimsissed as not relevant by Goblin. It's quite pleasing to see that Gropey now realises that perhaps my previous experience would have been a bit more useful than Goblins desperation to control & exclude :p.

Another 4 days until I have to return there & when I do it will be payday & I only have to work 3 days so all good :j.

Whizzed into Sainsbugs after work & I'm now getting to know the shop & keep 2 x £1 coins i my bag for parking & the trolley which alleviates aggro & time wasting.

I got a huge amount of fresh food - trolley full of fruit, salad stuff chicken & dairy & some of the basic range of stuff like flour, kitchen rolls, tuna etc. & stocked up on drinks cartons & things for DDs lunches. I came out £51.74 lighter but really did get a lot of stuff although my total household spends for May have now reached £267.44 :o. That figure is over 5 weeks, so the average weekly figure is £53.49 which could be lower, but I do like my fresh food. Of course, next summer I will have my own supplies of fruit & veg - well maybe not bananas or avocadoes - so will save loads of cash.

My only issue is as per the title - Seriously guys, there wasn't a single bottle of that luscious wine to be had & I'm gutted :(.

Need to relax in a bath now, so will be back in a bit with the rest of the news ...

Hope you're ok Lula. I've been trying to just get on with things in real life, but have been lurking a fair bit. Always catch up with your diary and love hearing the latest goings on.
