Betcha sleeping off Gordon this morning! None for me apart from a cup of tea mind
I'm off gardening today alongside the other things to do eg generally cleaning up and tidying up etc and putting off my assignment as long as humanly possible before making a start and a mad dash to the finish again
Have a great chocolate filled day my dear!
Forgot to mention about the Grocery spends. That used to be me - say to myself I won't spend more than this then go to the shop and think oh I must get this and this and this. Then when I realised how much I spent and how much debt I was in I realised how much I had in and now try and work through all of this eg use up whats in the freezer instead of adding to it and use up whats in the cupboard instead of buying more (eg pasta).
Makes for some interesting meals at times but good to see some space appear every so often. Setting a budget has really helped me and have managed to reduce the budget by £20 per month so far. It's this and combined with NSDs that helps me stick to the budget as it wasn nipping to the shop at lunchtime for a few bits that used to blow a hole in the budget. I've got £5 left until Thursday for my Grocery budget but that's fine as I don't need anything and that's what I need to remember!
The other thing that helped was going shopping once a week and setting a weekly budget to aim not to spend over.

Morning Fed,
it'll take more than a couple of Gordons to see me all hung over. Only one more than a couple it's true & perhaps next year I'll realise that hiding one in the microwave isnt such a good idea !
DD had located them all by 8 so I'm just having 3 mini eggs & a large coffee for brekkie & then I'm going to strip the beds & do a load of laundry. It's a bit grey out there but birds are chirping, the sun will break through & there's that lovely clean, fresh feel to the garden so I'm getting out there again as soon as I can.
I wholeheartedly agree with all your thoughts on the groceries. I've previously said that if it was just me here, then I could probably live n about £10 a week - now I reckon that's about £20 due to price increases, but the fact remains that I can happily eat very simple food eg spaghetti with chopped up tomatoes & basil sprinkled with pepper & parmesan is one of my faves; but DD isnt quite so easily pleased.
Although I do have the best of intentions when doing my big 2 or 3 monthly shop at tatco for all the cleaning stuff ... I do then tend to keep 'stocking up' throughout the month. Cannot let a good deal go by
Yesterday was a prime example of how easily swayed I am, although had we not been having the bbq with company, I could easily have got us to the end of next week on £20 as I know we had plenty of stuff in. I went mad buying things like olives & fresh salads.
Today I shall be planting our salad.
I know that weekly is the way to go, so as of next friday - payday :j I will be allocating a set amount for each week & I also need to get back on the NSD challenge. I can easily do 4 a week when at work.
Right, time to get a move on, I also have 3 sprouty potatoes that I'm going to shove in the ground, just to see what happens
Need to make some payments later today as well0 -
A large coffee decluttered here too and once the dog is bathed I'm off into the garden to plant some more salad leaves as I managed last year to eat salad nearly everyday from the garden without buying any and hoping for the same again. Also planting some beans - not much success last year with anything else - hoping have a better year this year!
You got me thinking about a weekly budget too - might go for £25 per week for May. Will decide laterfinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Had a fabulous day in the garden yesterday; decided to move the home-made greenhouse & finally use up all those free paving slabs I got last summer.
Had a lovely time playing in the mud, digging & raking the earth flat & then wiggling them all into place. The end result is we finally have a paved area where the table & charis can live all year round & not have to be moved about when cutting the grass.
DD spent much of this time lying under a tree playing about on my lappie & keeping cool with numerous Fab ice lollies
Eventually it had to happen, the 2 of us, a greenhouse made of bare wood & a half full tin of pink paint ...
Yep, that's now pink as well :rotfl:
Ended the day aching & scratched but very pleased with our work.
Went to swap the tvs back over as DD had mine when she was unwell as it has an in-built player. She confessed that she'd forgotten the code, entered any old numbers & now it was locked as protected. I was really mad as the tv was a donation so the code ( which I know if only she'd asked) made up by someone else & we have no way of knowing how to unlock it.
I was really hacked off as it's now a totally redundant piece of junk & as I sent her off to bed I told her to stay well away from my lappie in future.
I poured myself a Gordon & sat down to shift some money about & then post on here. Karma doesnt like mean mummies who yell so she reached out, grabbed Gordon & threw him all over my beautiful lappie :eek::eek:
It literally flowed over the keypad like a tsunami & as I leapt up & started shaking poor lappie upside down in an attempt to stop G&T entering vital parts the only words leaving my mouth began with F & ended in K.
I grabbed kitchen roll & then set about mopping it up, I hair dryered it & it seemed to be still working , although some key functions were a bit odd. I then took the decision to shut it down, give it a good wipe over & then restart.
It no longer recognises my password & will only type in capitals( which i think is the problem with the password recognition) I tried using the install disc but that aint working either & I have a green feeling that I killed it.
So, as soon as I've hung the washing out on the line, we're heading off to the very expensive store in town where I shall tell the staff that said lappie is a complete lightweight; one G&T & it's completely F***ed so please will they fix it for me & I promise not to drink & type ever again.
My ultimate fear is that it's non repairable & the lovely shiny new CC is going to end up maxed out on replacing an expensive product that is only 6 months old
I may be absent for a while as I will be self flagellating & gorging myself on humble pie.0 -

Fingers crossed this isn't the end!I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills

good luck with the laptop
and re the TV, I would think you can't be the first person to have this happen to, there must be a code somewhere on the interweb that will let you in or you can ring/e mail the company who made the TV and ask them for help, what is the make and model of the tv, I can search and ask a couple of techie mates?
xxxNevertheless she persisted.0 -
gosh hope you can get lappie and tv sorted out0
