  • B'ah! I think I have blown the £20 for the week aim already!
Well it started off well when I got picked up from the bus stop on the way to work by a passing colleague which saved me £1.50

However when I got into work I realised I owed £8 for two months subscription to a 'club' thing we have here so I coughed that up out of the change I had left over for the weekend (I was going to bank it at lunchtime).

So that leaves £12 left in a week where I need to get buses and pay for a few drinks on Saturday. Hmmmmmmm. A challenge no?

Anyway I suppose, I was going to have to pay the subs anyway so best get it out of the way now rather than go and get £10 out of the cash machine on pay day.

I am off for a brisk lunchtime walk now....not going near any shops!! (Though I do need some lemon teabags!)

    Is it nearly "move" day?

Hi cattie, I hope the toilet rolls last a long time and you use your work time to maximise use of their resources :D

Move date is Wednesday 13th December. Ages to go yet....can you see why I should have been R&Ring this weekend?!

    Morning Moozie,

Well after a terrible spending weekend (parking ticket, left coat in taxi, mum deciding that she can't repay £200 she owes me....) I am going to try very hard not to spend very much this week. I have lunch with me and enough snacks for the week (thanks to my lovely OH). I am going Christmas shopping tonight but I have budgeted for that (£400 for all presents, extra food and work party) so not counting it here.

    Have a good day everyone!

Oh Imelda, that sounds like a very bad weekend. I am sorry, I hope today is proving to be a lot better and the start to a good week.

Have fun Christmas shopping and hope the budget works :)

    hi bobblehat,

if you've got the ingredients you could try home made:

    http://www.mybeautyrecipes.com/conditioner.html

calls for egg, olive oil & water. I've tried this on my hair & it felt fantastic afterwards. it would keep for three or so days in the fridge, or you could freeze it probably. It's an Old Style/thrifty living type thing to do. It might seem a bit weird putting food on your hair but at least you know what you're putting on your head, which is more than you can say for most shampoos!!

anyway, hope this suggestion doesn't seem too way out ...

(edit: and in fact it's probably not cheaper than a £2 bottle you could buy in Boots, which will last an age ... just a useful solution if you a) don't much like the chemical gunk that goes in commercial conditioners and b) run out of conditioner and don't want to make a special trip to get any)

    anyway, it's just a thought

Thanks cathybird, will defo try this on a pamper day. :T

Just realised I have loads of Boots points so I can get conditioner without spending any money at all. So today will be a NSD :j

A bad start to the week for me. Heard something earlier that really upset me and made me feel down (would explain more but just thinking about typing it out makes me want to cry again) so I succombed to the comfort eating and spent £2.69 in the newsagents on a magazine and some chocs. Its bad really because I'm supposed to be dieting and saving money and have blown both today.

If only everyone in the world could be as lovely as those on here

Here's to a better day tomorrow.
