Paidin just send it in a pm if you like xHere dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
And we were young.

Evening fellow frugallers:j
As predicted this month is proving to be expensive at Gnat Bottomed Towers but OH has shopped around and got the car insurance down as far as possible and we're now checking out the recovery services.
So far this well I have hauled back my reduced booty from Waitrose and now built a menu around it. I will get other bits from Sainsburys tomorrow. I have also invested in some books from £land for presents [Wolf Brother was one] and have checked my gift box to find that I already have two very suitable items stashed for my sister's birthday which will be light to post. No spending needed there afterall:jTomorrow I'm off to check out a new CS in the town.
I've been rummaging in my craft stash and have found that I have sufficient scraps of paper to make a picture for the summer solstice which I've just started planning and best of all an empty picture frame to put it in:D
hugs to all

Hello everyone
I just wanted to say how inspiring you all are! I have been reading this thread with great interest for a little while now (am only upto page 39, but I will get there!).
So in all of your honour, I took my little one to our local green grocer (walked of course!) and bought 5 strawberry plants at 20p each. We planted them earlier and my little one is so excited about them (she is only 17 months old but keeps taking me to them to look and wanting to water them a little but more!). I am also a little excited too if I am being honest! I also noticed whilst there that he had tomato plants for just 20p each also so am tempted....
I can't wait to be able to afford a larger garden so that we can have a proper vegetable patch... gosh I may even try talking my lovely hubbie-to-be into letting us have a couple of chucks too! ... Hmmm Well I can dream anyway! lol!
Anyway THANK YOU everyone, for this fabulous thread you are all a great inspriation! Well done! :money:

Welcome Lookingtothefuture - oh, it's great to see new people arriving!
I'd say def go for a couple of tom plants too (wish I could have some but VERY allergic to them unfortunately) - they don't take up a lot of room and it's fantastic eating what you've grown. It tastes soooooo much better!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Good evening everyone
I've just caught up as I've been so busy that I'd missed a few pages worth of this fantastic thread. Well we've had no hot water or heating since 18th May but am hoping to get this sorted out in the next couple of weeks. We have been scrounging showers / baths from friends and family, and I've been boiling the kettle and filling washing up bowls with water to have a "shower". Hopefully this will be better soon as I really want to have a soak in the bath for a couple of hours
. Hope everyone is well. Missed you all. x0 -

Went shopping for 1st time in ages (bn getting mum to pick me up milk when she's at Ts) and my normal shop (minus cereal n some other essentials) went up by around £15!!! Everything has went up in price, from my milk, (I buy between 5&7 cartons a week and I don't normally include in my grocery challenge) 1 litre at £1.37 to £1.42 to my treat of cheap, not the blue n white label stuff but next one up, lemonade from 38p to 65p! Couldn't justify paying £2.50 for a melon that was no bigger than an Apple.
