I take my aunt with me as she loves them plus she brings up food parcels and makes a chocolate cake for the kids :T uncle and hubby are left at home with the kids and they usually do some DIY so great day for me lol. Car boots are getting terrible here as the things people sell are terrible and I would be ashamed to put them in the garden and burn them incase the neighbours saw lol

just spent £5 in Mr T and I got a pizza express pizza, pizza express dough balls and garlic dip, 2 breaded plaice, 4 smoked haddock fish cakes, 3 small lamb chops, 2 small rump steaks and a large pot of single cream! I love the reduced section! I also got the Observers book of birds eggs (1967) for £2 and I see it on ebay for over a tenner. And I had a free ice cream (saffron) and a free coffee with ice cream in which is the best invention ever at my friends cafe cos he owed me for typesetting an advert for him. A good start to the month!

    Hi tumptyteapot

I am so impressed with how you always manage to spend so little and yet get so much for it? I was made redundant recently and I am determined to make my redundancy money last as long as possible given the appalling employment market.

Where do I find this reduced section and what time is best to get the bargains? Or any tips that you are happy to share wouldbe gratefully accepted.

This is such an awesome thread. I only wish that I am a fifth of the domestic goddess that you all seem to be.

    Thank you everyone.

    Hi, anyone use this?

Just tried for the 1st time as home insurance about to expire and renewal quote is up over £70.

Did a quote through GoCom*pare & there were a couple of very cheap ones but M*ore Th*an quoted £159 (+ £20 for legal protection) making it £179.

Forgot about Quid*Co - thought I'd give it a try & £40 cashback with M*ore Th*an but the quote's coming out at £204 with the legal protection.

Any ideas why? (is it 'cos the comparison one isn't a full/proper quote)?

_pale_ Just bitten the bullet & completed the SoW for April - I think I'm going to rename mine SoB (Spreadsheet of Blunder - what else did you think?:naughty: ) It is down by nearly £100 compared to March but like my old school reports - could do better!! Going off now to see what I've got in the freezer & cupboards & make a menu plan for next week ......trudges off into distance with small black cloud over head

    Hello fellow frugallers:j
Quiet day here at Gnat Bottomed Towers but have invested 200 pennies in some rather gorgeous painted wooden bangles from £land- one for me and one for the gift box.

For anyone who is enjoyed the young superscrimper I see from the Channel 4 programme info she has her own blog.
