Buckets of good luck to you miss empty piggy re your Ofsted report. I remember when I was being Ofsteded - I'd rather have had a baby, or ate my own liver.

Mean May - hmmm. Not very mean so far I'm afraid, cos I have plantitis - every time I go near a garden centre, I find myself seduced by the lovely arrays of plants, and I spend.

But I shall have a most gorgeous garden to enjoy, and DH is getting so much pleasure going to the centres, so it's a small price to pay. And every time I buy something, I say to myself "Happy Birthday", and then amazingly I feel much better! :)

hi everyone, sorry for falling off the bandwagon and not reading in a while. i will catch up when i'm able.

we went camping for the may bank holiday and i managed to persuade OH to cook all but 1 breakfast and 1 dinner at the campsite = burgers, fresh pasta, couscous, curry & rice ect and not have lots of takeaways. :T it was a miracle but we were helped out by the friends we were with also needing to save money.

so with the money saved on food i feel less quilty about buying a cookbook (Complete Tassanjara = healthy wholegrains ect, 30 down to 10 due to slightly damaged spine), and 5 amber beads for my charm bracelet. in my defence they were half price and a good price to start with so i actually got 5 for 35.00, almost the same price as 1 branded Troll Bead!! (5 branded would have been 140:eek:, but it's not entirely a saving as i would have only have 1 at full price.)

my computer is still mostly up the spout so the pile of reciepts is taunting me:o. oh, and i think we're moving Tomorow. eek!
Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. No buying cleaning products. I used MSE advice to reduce my car insurance from 550 to 325!! & paid it off in full!!!

I think we should all give ourselves a huge pat on the back, not just for our efforts to be frugal, but because of the smashing help, support and advice and harmony we enjoy on this thread. :beer::beer::beer:

I've been reading some of the nasty, and totally unnecessary flaming that newbies have received on various other threads, and just can't understand why some people think that if they've made a few dozen posts, or even a few thousand, that it gives them a divine right to be judgmental, rude, dismissive and blo*dy 'orrible!

If there are any lurkers out there, wondering if they dare dip a toe in the water here, can I assure them that everyone is really helpful, nobody judges anyone for spending anything, or not saving as much as they did, and we're all very nice! :A

I agree, I've dipped my toes into another couple of sections on this website and been judged pretty harshly with people jumping to all sorts of assumptions - once I was asking for a friend and people were replying saying 'friend' as if I was lying and it was about me. I think life is too short to make people feel terrible about themselves and I hope I am never one of the people who do that.

Hello! Is it okay to join in still? I've downloaded the spreadsheet and will start filling it in tonight! This sounds like a brilliant challenge and as a stay at home mum with only my husbands income frugal living is the way forward I think!

    Thank you.

Unfortunately, having looked at it, I realise I haven't got a clue how to do a spreadsheet. :rotfl::rotfl:

Back to pen and paper. lol.
