My son wants a car, I think,
Options
I hav seen my son look at car magazines, on auto trader and other sites.
Can i conclude he is looking to buy a car? He is doing his lessons, but is not working (is using his saving)
He is away for 2 weeks, so i thought i would ask here.
I thought he wasnt ready yet,and think he should have passed his test first.

lol No, i mean is he looking for himself?
or for his mates perhaps? as he has mates who have passe their test.
is there a way i can check he is looking for himself? by checking internet history0 -
If he's not working he may realize he can't afford to run it anyway so may just be thinking ahead-but surely the easiest thing is to ask him. He knows far better what he's thinking than we do
Not sure why you think checking the history would show whohe is looking for tho -it'll just show what sites he is looking at -presumably he and his mates all like similar cars so it's not going to tell you anything except he's looked at cars-which you already knowI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

I can't afford to move out to my own place for a year but I still look at property websites every now and again for a bit of inspiration - it sorta keeps me plodding along and helps me see what I can achieve eventually. So I imagine he'd like a car but unless he can afford to buy and run a car then it's unlikely he's going to get one - maybe he's just giving himself a bit of motivation for the driving lessons and to find out what he could have someday. Can't you ask him yourself when he gets back from wherever he is? Internet history will show which sites he looked at and if he has used search engines to find out about a particular car then those pages will show up too.Debt: Started at £4780, now at £4190

Careful looking at his internet history! xD.
Why don't you just ask him? What is pi? Where did it come from?0 -
How would the internet history know his thoughts? I follow ebay links from this site all the time but that
doesnt mean i want to purchase that item for myself or someone else.
Gotta say the same ask him? Hope his savings are plentyful. Insurance for the 1st year will be around £2000.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Is this thread for real????
Whatever happened to, "I found some girlie mags in my son's room , is he planning on having sex?"The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
Given the content of most car magazines these days he could well just be looking at !!!!!!, and the Auto Trader is to provide plausible deniability.

Of course he wants a car, but he's just swotting up on info available, to enable him to understand them more, and make a sensible choice when he is in a postion to afford one.
Don't we all do that, when we are thinking of replacing the TV, Washing machine or Fridge Freezer etc. Sometimes even when we are thinking of replacing the car.0
