Just having a quick catch up on my phone in bed. It feels like someone has put a curse on us or something this month. Rosemary's cat, Rachel's mum and 3 people with awful relationship issues. Glad that people are getting lots of support from our little community but hoping for happier times for everyone in May.

I've not bought anything lately and hoping to keep that up.

Well put Mags - I feel the same way.

Ah, see, I allowed myself to buy it because I don't spend lots on clothes. I bought undies earlier this year which cost £70ish but that'll last me until next year. Before that, the last thing I bought was £16 jeans in October. Then about £30 last summer on tops and undies.
I have a very minimalist wardrobe and I love how easy it makes it to get ready each and every day :) LOL, I own 3 pairs of jeans and one of those is for decorating in. And 8 dresses. Not much else. I do need to get some cropped jeans/ trousers/ long shorts for the summer though but don't know where from. Any ideas chaps?

Beautiful dress Kaz - Julie has already said but it is well worth a pop into M & S as their sale is on now (I was looking this afternoon). They had loads of summery items, linen trousers/crop/shorts, cropped jeans, some summery dresses and skirts too. I got a nice dress for myself for £12 :)

Off to attack my eyebrows for the week ahead. I am missing my regular wax to get rid of the really blonde hairs that I struggle with but tweezering whilst money is needed for other things just has to do. All :money:but I have a few nights outs and house partys coming up at the end of the month so I might cave in then.

    Night all.

    morning all

Another UU at the weekend - Avon Shine spray - WIBA? yes, works well, doesn't make my hair greesy, lasts ages and doesn't cost a lot :)

However I have two shine sprays left in my stash so will use those up first.
Am going to look at packing for holiday tonight so will see what I can pack to UU on holiday :)

Glad you had a nice weekend rosemary, I live up north and go to Harrogate quite a bit, Betty's is a lovely place for a treat, never found anywhere else quite like it. We take the kids and the staff are great with them, they love getting the afternoon tea with all the mini cakes.

Kaz - you are very glamourous aren't you, you must have cut quite a dash on your bike in your dress, like someone from the 40's in the nicest possible way. Oh - unless you got changed after your bike ride. My mum has a black and white photo of her from the 40's with her best friend out for a bike ride at the seaside, they are wearing dresses, they looked so beautful and happy.

UU: BS white musk bath foam.
WIBA? no. Might as well just use a cheap bath foam as this didn't seem any different.

    UU: Nivea face wipes
WIBA? no. Rubbish. Very dry (old stock???) so most were thrown away and only got them because they were part of a reduced pack of Nivea travel bits a couple of months ago

Glad you had a nice weekend Rosemary, I think you needed it really after your previous week. Funny all this talk about Harrogate, I keep saying to DH that I'd like to go to Yorkshire for a weekend and now there are adverts all the time and you lot are all going. It must be fate :rotfl:
Ah, sorry to disappoint, I wore jeans and one of DH's t-shirts on our bike ride (we went mountain biking up the woods!). I would have considered it but the risk of cycling in sandals is just too dangerous, so many spiral leg #s happen that way with people getting the pedal caught between sandal and foot :( besides, I wanted my walking shoes on as I wasn't sure what it would be like up the woods. It's the first time I've ever taken my bike up the woods and it's fantastic! I have a y frame and front suspension and boy does it take a battering. I don't think I've ever seen a bike doing proper tyre squishing because you're going over such rough terrain. I'm so pleased DS's big enough to have developed enough bike confidence for us to do this type of thing :D. DD did a bike training thing at school but they don't run it any more. Basically (it's NOT cycling proficiency) the chap came along and taught them the kind of things that you would b*ll*ck them for doing because they'd kill themselves at 6 and 7 doing it. Bunny hops, jumping up and down pavements and all sorts. They had 2 terms of this and it got cancelled due to lack of interest (or the head din't like it ) and I stayed to watch a few times and thought it looked such brilliant fun. DD now has fantastic bike control, even down to not flipping herself over the handlebars when braking because they've been taught what to do. She has a fab bike, a Claude Butler which cost a lot of money but she rides it well and I never thought we'd need to buy her an adult frame when she was 9. If she ever grows out of it or gets bored, the chap in the shop showed us that it will easily fit me so it's fine (and I want it!).

Wow, I think I could do with taking a leaf out of your book :rotfl: I currently have my wardrobe full to bursting, 8 drawers over flowing plus 8 bin liners of stuff to put away somewhere... :rotfl: :o I think i've got about 15 pairs of jeans but live in the same 2 pairs, although 1 pair are far too big for me now, so big that they fall down if I undo my belt but I can't bring myself to chuck them because they're my comfy jeans, 8 pairs of leggings, 6 pairs of linen trousers, 743649428363 vest tops (accurate figure, I counted  :rotfl: ) and god knows what else. I really need to cut down. After i've got that dress... :D :rotfl:

I got my cropped jeans for this summer from peacocks and some linen trousers from primark :rotfl: But that's because i'm shrinking at the moment so don't want to spend too much on clothes when I might be a size smaller mid-summer or certainly by next summer.
It's very difficult to have a capsule wardrobe if your weight fluctuates. I go up and down 1/2 a stone each month but that's just natural fluctuation. Other than that, apart from when I first qualified as a nurse and went down to 8st 12 (and was 6 weeks pregnant), I've been a steady size 10-12 for years. Well, since I grew up actually. The dress I bought was a 10 because I have a small top half and bigger hips.
We don't have a primark in our town (hate that shop actually!) and I don't find peacocks clothes last. I'd much rather spend £60 on a pair of jeans which will last me 20 years than £20 on a pair which will fall apart after 2 washes (well, I'd rather have the £60 jeans for £20 :money: but you know what I mean :rotfl:).
When you reach your target weight, think about having a capsule wardrobe. It's so worth it. I'm never stuck for something to wear because I know what's there straight away.

I'm the same - I have 3 pairs of jeans - two blue one white, a bunch of tops and ..... well thats it :D I have two dresses which never get worn and I'm determined to wear them this summer but probably wont *rollseyes*. Oh! and a couple of jumpers :p

I saw some really nice cropped trews in M&S the other week when I was shopping with my Mum - if you're an M&S type :D

I have a pair of jeans which are roll-up/roll-down for the summer - I can't wear proper cropped trousers as I'm so short they always reach my ankles :rotfl::rotfl:

I'm quite happy to shop in M&S, so long as the quality and the fit are right. I had a pair of cropped trousers from George which I was given for my 26th birthday by my BFF. I gave them to my sister last year (6 years later) because I had worn them out completely (that sounds bad, I'd worn out the button bit and couldn't sew a button onto no fabric. She's thinner than I am so could have pulled them in a little) and TBH, I resent the fact that she brings in more money than DH and I and never stops moaning about how skint they are because they're on benefits. They've been done for benefit fraud yet they carry on and her OH works cash in hand.:mad::mad::mad: That's what's wrong with society today. Well one of the things. And now I'm on my soap box :rotfl:.

Poor DD has a vomitty bug, actually displaying the same signs and symptoms which I did on Friday so I don't think mine can have been wine induced (I did worry that I had certainly turned into a total lightweight ) but still don't think I should be drinking. I think my body is trying to tell me it doesn't like it and I rarely do it so I'm hardly going to miss out am I?

Went to bed last night and went to put some hemp foot protector on my feet and the blooming cat stuk her nose in it. She got a blob on her nose and before I could get it off, she'd licked it off and then ran away. Then this morning, she was asleep on DD's belly when she started retching. DD said it was the cat who woke her up by clawing her belly and she woke up about to hurl so good kitty Willow :). Better than coming and patting my face when she wants fussing at 6 am!

    Sorry for the epic post!

I'd love a capsule wardrobe, but much like xoxo I have recently condensed my triple wardrobe and carpet-o-clothes into a double wardrobe, 8 drawers and 4 bin liners-o-clothes. I have been pretty much a stable weight for a year or so now, but I am desperately trying to lose afew stone, so I cant condense my wardrobe further as I feel like I want to keep the stuff that doesnt quite fit (yet) =[:(

well this morning hasnt worked out as planned...

got up at 8, dressed and down to the bus stop, waiting for 20 mins for the bus, only to find they arn't bothering to run them because its technically half term, not amused - everyone else is up at uni for a revision session and Im stuck here because I cant get there......so frustrating

Popped into town before coming home as I needed a few household items but also ended up buying a few toiletry things - they were from the £ shop though so I didnt exactly spend much.....but that does mean I have a few INs, including a set of false nails - what a mistake! they are meant to be short, Ive put them on, filed them down and I still feel like I have claws, I cant do anything, cant type, definetly cant text so Im a bit disappointed, just wanted something to stop me chewing my nails to pieces.....think these might have to come off again because I cant even open packets :(

Bought some deodrant, body lotion and some razors - hardly splashing the cash lol
Also picked up a £1 hair dye, no idea if it would be any good but if it is ok then this may be the solution to my hair dye problem with very little cash :)

Cant believe it though, for the first time I saw some moisture traps in there, two pack for £1, Ive not seen these anywhere round town before and Ive been paying £9 for 3 from ebay  so I stocked up 6 for £3......

As for the clothes discussion, Im as bad as OXOX - to be honest its partly because I bought tonnes of primark clothes etc over the last few years, which now just look terrible, £4 for a tshirt might seem good but not when it goes totally stretched or out of shape after a few washes so it never gets worn again. I need to do a massive sort out of my clothes but I wouldnt know where to begin. Ive no idea the true amount of anything but (and Im somewhat ashamed to admit it) I once went 6 weeks without doing a single bit of washing - just because I had that many clothes to get through, and Im one of these people that seem to change several times a day too

Now a days the clothes I tend to wear are either New Look sale stuff :o or DP stuff bought from ebay, to be honest I LOVE DP stuff but £30 a time is a bit rich for me, did a big shop on ebay last year for clothes and I think all in all I spent less than £30 and got about 6 or 7 dresses/tops etc.

My half of our wardrobe is totally full with clothes, my two massive draws are full (one of which is just knickers ) dont even get me started on how many I have :p on top of that I have 3 laundry bins full, plus most of my clean clothes end up living on the floor as I have no where else for them plus I left another 2 laundry bins worth back at my parents. I cant wear jeans these days partly because I look silly in them but partly because I have a horrible flabby belly and they hurt me, I litterally live in leggings and tights and just wear long tops/dresses or tshirt with a skirt.....

Did anyone else on here order those free tights someone linked to on here? Mine said it was dispatched at the begining of last week but still nothing has turned up - begining to think my post has gone walkies again

I would love a capsule wardrobe but I could never do it :rotfl: I have sooooooooo many clothes yet always wear the same things. I think I may have a good sort out later. The problem is though, like Alanis, I have stuff that's a bit small at the moment that I can't chuck because I hope it will fit soon, so I end up with stuff in loads of sizes. When I was working I was a 10 on top, 12 bottom and working meant I could afford nicer stuff so it's all topshop, jane norman etc so I don't want to bin it when it could fit soon and would end up being replaced with Primani stuff because I can't work atm and can't afford £30+ on a top. So I just keep it all. I did chuck about 10 bags full last year but replaced it all with 10x the amount because if I go somewhere like Primark I get 2 x everything I like in 2/3 different sizes and all the colours available :rotfl: And then instead of chucking the tshirts/vest tops when they go baggy I stick them in my pyjamas drawer so that ends up overflowing too. I do the same with shoes (17 pairs of flip flops bought this year already :o ), bags (15 so far this year), pyjamas (13 pairs of the same pj bottoms), underwear I have 4 drawers full etc it's crazy! I really really need a good sort out. Maybe i'll do some eBay bundles of the stuff still tagged etc :money:

No UU or INs yet today but i've only just dragged my butt out of bed :p I'm going to have a bath soon so hopefully some UUs. Something i've used over the past week has given me a few spots on my arms and legs (never had spots on either before) so I need to work out what that was and chuck it.

Hope everyones ok and enjoying the sunshine:j Kaz I hope DD is better soon :(
