:T Well done horse76 - are you getting a buzz out of taking control and using some of your nice products up?

Fiasco, I am really enjoying this challenge, as it was like I was actually 'oblivious' to the stash I had mounting up. Looking at this thread gave me such a reality check, which is saving me a lot of money now. I do get a buzz out of finishing a product off too!

    Thanks all. :A

Hi guys, just quickly caught up. What a mad night, I haven't stopped since I got here at 8pm. Didn't get break until now- phew!
Popped on a clay mask last night before I got in the bath. Skin's feeling better from the masks although I still have some red angry looking marks from a couple of spots. After I used the 1st 2 masks, one of the milia on my cheek turned into a !!!!! blackhead. It's got rid of the milia and has healed up ok but it's a bit pink. It'll be lovely if I manage to clear up the milia but I don't know if they'll ever go. I noticed a while back that DD (aged 9) had one on her cheek too and I know both sisters have them so maybe it is a genetic predisposition towards them? Who knows eh?
Thanks to those who clarified what race it was, I couldn't think what race would be happening this week (I've not heard anything about it!)

Yesterday I uu a 50 ml FCUK Body Butter. I love this stuff and so am sad that I've got no more of it but also pleased to have used it up as I am bound to get some bb with my Groupon. With this in mind I'm also trying to uu a BS Grapefruit bb. The OH hates the smell of it and always complains when he goes in the bedroom after I've used it. Soooo, as it was so lovely yesterday morning, I sat outside in the sunny garden and applied it to my feet and drank a big cup of coffee while it was soaking in. I will do the same this morning after my shower. Bliss!

I must fess up to an "in". I had £2 of M&S vouchers as I have a credit card with them and you build up points which convert into vouchers. I don't use this card very often hence the low amount of points accummulated. I didn't want to spend any cash with the vouchers and so got a £2 100 ml Royal Jelly and Pure Honey Moisturising Hand and Nail Cream. I will be able to put this into use this week as the 30ml pot of Boots Royal Jelly with Extracts of Pure honey Hand Lotion that I keep in my bedside drawer will be uu any day now.

Also a boring uu of Colgate Total Toothpaste and an Arm and Hammer Sensitive Toothpaste will be gone in a day or two. We usually have two varieties of toothpaste on the go as the OH doesn't like using the sensitive stuff every day.

Before I have my shower I am going to touch up my roots with Clairol Root Touch Up. This will be the third and last use I will get from this box, so another uu, yay!

    Enjoy the sunny day ladies.

Kaz, using a gentle scrub is supposed to help, maybe one of the daily ones like olay do. I had quite a few of these at the top of my cheekbones and made a right mess trying to squeeze them, then i found out about scrubbing and I used St Ives scrub every other day and they went away on their own. Its not a quick fix, took a while but really did work.

Gutted about the horses in the national, don't watch it, can't stand that race, don't know how they get away with this year after year.

You've never tried to *make* a horse do something it didn't want to do I'm guessing? Honestly, you can't - they are big, heavy animals, and even if someone were to try to do something about training by fear, you could only go so far before even the mildest tempered horse would turn on you. I used to work at a riding school where we occasionally took on rescues - on one occasion we took in a former show-jumper - he'd been owned by one of the quite big names actually, and in a bid to try to stop him bolting after the jumps they used to make him jump over something high - so high that he couldn't see the solid object placed behind it for him to run into if he bolted. His reaction was just to refuse to jump. We know, but have no proof of the fact that they tried to beat him into continuing to jump, but he wouldn't. When we got him you couldn't even get him to step over a tree-trunk in the forest - he would start shaking and lathering up with sweat. Within 3 months he was happily popping over tree trunks etc with even the smallest kids on board - just goes to show how intelligent they are! However, one thing that didn't ever change was that if a man - any man, came within reach of him, he would do his level best to take a chunk out of him. Intelligent, and with long, long memories too. It is desperately sad about the horses having to be put down though - sadly more often than not a horse with a serious leg injury does have to be helped out of pain as they are so big they simply can't manage without putting at least some weight on each of their four legs. It's a design flaw. :( I know what you mean about the National - it does seem extraordinary that with the risks to man and beast it carries on, but it's not that the horses are being forced into jumping, honestly. Now the jockeys....!

I've just realised that I have an additional few items which I don't think ever made it to my travel stash - that FCUK free gift I got earlier in the year when I bought body polish? I seem to recall it's a BB, polish, and bath/shower gel. I'll have to check and add it on if not.

You're right about scrubbing working to clear Milia too - as you say, it takes a while but it does seem to do the trick eventually. It's great the way this thread has turned into a real fund of knowledge about such things isn't it! :D

I agree with every word of EH's post. A friend's horse was put down in the week, he jumped a fence as he'd done many times before and his leg broke as he landed. He landed normally - it just went, and he was a stocky, staying type. Stuff happens.
It's horrible that those horses died, yes, but the sport as a whole provides employment to thousands. It's part of the economy.
They could have just as easily died in an accident at home. Formula 1 motor racing didn't grind to a halt when the legendary Ayrton Senna was killed.

I'm more concerned over winning jockey Jason Maguire's use of the whip, and the fact that buckets of water are used to cool horses post - race when hoses are usually used at home and are a far more logical choice.

Returning to topic, no UU's... but we are getting there with the Virgin Vie shower juice!
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.
  • UU - S & G Greatest scrub of all WIBA Yes I probably would but I have a Flakeaway to use next then a breakfast scrub. I am dubious of using the flakeaway though after some of your feedback but will give it a go! I have also slapped on some fake tan today as my legs were whiter than white!

I was wondering that about the buckets as well - surely common sense would say that there are sufficient hoses available for at very least the horses most in need of it? perhaps they are deemed to be less environmentally friendly in these days of concerns over water wastage?
If that IS the case then people need to start getting their priorities right! On the same subject, yesterday must have been one of the hottest days for the race on record, I'm guessing?

Sorry to hear about your friend's horse too - they are such a big part of your life that when they are suddenly no longer with you it's one hell of a shock isn't it. Hope your friend isn't doing too badly.

LT I take it the spendy-elves have moved in with you for a while? That's good from my perspective - means they are leaving me alone! :D Definitely best to avoid the dens of temptation in that case though!
