Just disabled the intergrated camera and enabled the Bison webcam and Skype allows me to connect by video but all the recepient sees is a grey screen (but can hear me ok).0

OMG there are so many of them there and no idea what most of them are!! I have taken Skype off but will leave the rest for now and have a look at them tomorrow evening. Thanks0

I hadn't tried using the webcam for a long up until last week. When I first got the laptop it worked fine but I can't remember how I used to access it! Now though whenever I try and access it it just seems to take pictures but they are just grey the same as what comes up when I try and use it with Skype!0

Opps I can't post the link so google "amcap cnet" and click first link.
You might like to try the above, mine came with amcap software but it seems it will work with any cam.
Also in msconfig service I see something called windows image acquaisition (WIA), check that is checked.

What is the make and model of laptop?
Maybe you should check it has the right drivers for cam
