    Currently have 4:
Virgin - balance £10 but may try get this back as I believe they have charged me unfairly (see other thread):(
Tesco - balance £1500-used for weekly shopping and diesel to get my points up
Barclay - balance £3500-got it for foreign use and bt rate @ 0%
Abbey/Santander - balance £0 - got it for 0% at time but have since paid it off - must actually cancel it as I never will use it!!

Ideally would love to have the Barclay pretty much paid off by end of year and then try for another deal. I'll keep the Tesco card and use as my clubcard. Would also love to be able to pay the balance in full each month...but I'm a wee bit away from that yet!!:D

Errr, probably best trying to reduce the balances rather than rack up more.

I have none. I have a debit card, but rarely buy anything so a cashback card's not even worth the hassle... although with the price of fuel now it might be worthwhile considering getting one as I've spent £200 on diesel this year. A 1% cashback card would have given me £2 by now.

Halifax Credit Card - 0% balance transfer with £1600 on it
Barclays Credit Card - 0% balance transfer with £2400 on it
Mint Credit Card - active for purchases, used to have the above balances on it and was paying high APR. Now pay off purchases every month.
  • Just 1 hsbc credit card (20.9%, but much of the balance is 0% after a balance transfer offer they gave me so im not paying the full 20.9 on the entire balance):o

Have a balance of £2450, but I'll pay off £1500 at the end of the month, had to spend on the car a little bit this month.

Recently closed down a virgin card. Personally i don't like to have more than 1 or 2 creditors despite the saving, as it makes me confused! Not that it takes much to confuse me

0% card (due to run out soon)
    Amex Nectar card (main card)
Post Office card for international usage

Except for the 0% non have balances. The 0% balance is already saved to be paid off when the 0% ends.

There is some interesting tactical discussions on the use of cards on here.
More power to your elbows, but personally I don't want the hassle of too many cards.

    1. Direct debit Santander. Visa
    2. Tesco Mastercard
    3. MBNA Amazon Mastercard. Soon to be handed in as I didn't know it was American until I received it via Amazon.
    (2 & 3 cleared monthly. 3 No longer used.)

Most other posts seem to be using cards as easy loans, and paying large interest as a result. Debts beget debts.
The more cards in debt, the more people to chase you on default, and the more likely you'll get a nasty creditor on your back.
