Too many and not enough!
Believe me, it would not remain for 'emergencies' for long in my house, the last one didn't

Just the one for a balance transfer, trying to get another though to pay off my loan on a money transfer

I have 4.
Egg & Cap One for cashback.
Cap one is very new and a replacement for Egg, but won't close Egg for a while as I have cashback outstanding on it.
Halifax Clarity for foreign use.
MBNA card currently unused. Was taken for 0% purchases but no current offer. Considering closing it but might get a repeat offer.0 -
I have one I keep purely for emergencies. My family live abroad and I keep that card clear or with a tiny balance in case I need to fly home at the drop of a hat and can't access cash from my savings quickly enough.
I hadn't used it for a year or so and had a letter from the bank threatening to shut it down. So I've started putting one or two small payments through it each month and paying them off in full.0 -
I had 4 up until last week. I have just closed my Vanquis card and am now left with Capital One (plan to close that one shortly), Aqua and Barclaycard Initial.
Total balance across all three is less than £100. Credit limits total £1650.Remember this: nothing worth doing is easy.0 -
Three, although only one has a current balance.0

-Halifax Clarity for purchases abroad
-Post Office as a back up for when I go abroad kept separate from main wallet

Natwest - my bank
Halifax - Used for 0% purchases offer which has now run out.
Tesco - Used for 0% purchases offer which has now run out.
Egg - Kept it after BT away from it to Virgin as my only Visa card, small limit I requested
Virgin - Use for 0% BT, now have a 0% purchases on it. Will definately keep due to numerous repeat 0% offers.
Looking for another 0% purchase card, but might have to close one or two first as my available credit to annual income ratio is very high. Halifax and Tesco will go if I have to and they won't offer me any incentives to stay.0
