Update - it's school policy, but his tutor is still trying to find the source of that 'policy' - we were certainly not aware of it, but now we are, we have told him not to do it anymore. The ruling was introduced because it was felt some children were stealing from local shops to 'fence' their stolen goods. His cans of drink were returned to him, and he'd drunk all 4 of them before I got home at 6.....
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.

My DS was told by an older boy who had been caught in the past for selling, that the reason they were not allowed to do it, is because they are doing the likes of Tesco and the brand giants out of profit. How true this is I don't know.

I'm so glad that i was raised in the 90's, and didn't have stuffy parents that would only feed me on salad in the fear i grew up obese.

I hope you're son doesnt get in too much trouble, there is so much worse he could have been doing than showing a bit of nouse (sp?)

You realise that he is now destined for a life of addiction (to pepsi) and general debachery? :p

A guy in my class was great at art, used to sell naked pictures. I can see the art in them now but at the time....

We used to do this at school - but we asked teachers first.

They said it was fine but after a while the school catering company complained they were taking business away from them (we sold sweets, so did they), so they asked us to stop. So we did.

This was before all the "health" freak stuff came into place.

Reminds me of when I was at school., we used to do baking in Home economics then sell it on the bus going home :D

OP - it doesn't sound like he has been too fazed by being in trouble, and I'm sure he will soon be dreaming up a new scheme lol

Have to say - some of the replies on this thread did make me laugh :rotfl:Okay, so I don't let my kids drink fizzy juice, I'm trying to protect their teeth while they're young but it seems a bit over the top torefer to it as 'poison' or suchlike :rotfl:One day all these kids will grow up and be in control of themselves and it's the forbidden treats which may be craved the most.

I sold cigarettes in school - used to enable me to double my lunch money. No one was forced to buy them and not many of the kids realised I was only doing it to get my smoke for free - I am neither a druggie nor a drug dealer - I work in accounts :D

    OMG that's even worse! (Joke!)
