Try searching of some of the ones mentioned on ebay, there are a couple of nippers under £70, but depends where you are in the country to whether they'd be any good for you :)

  • I bought a Maclaren (Triumph) for £70 in a Mothercare sale 5 years ago. Have used it for both my children, numerous UK holidays, 2 abroad holidays and I have had no problems at all. I am very hard-wearing and rough with it but it has done me brilliantly, I can't recommend them highly enough.
Have a look on Mothercare, Kiddicare & ebay and see if you can get them for a more reasonable price.

Urban detour under £70 and there are others, some at £10 ending today with no bids :) it's starting to look dated so the re sold ones are getting cheaper.

The only issue I had was getting the twin one (which is huuuge) on the bus. Loved it apart from that.

what have you been doing to them lol

I bought my DS a pushchair when he was about a year old for £30 from Boots and took him in it the 2 miles to and from DD preschool everyday for 2 years with no problems, DD also used to climb on the back for a ride when she was feeling lazy and it coped fine. Currently in the loft for when Bob is bigger - I don't like to waste money on pushchairs.

Hey delain Bob has a petite star zia and its great - really nippy for the school run now only 5 minutes. He isn't squashed yet but still lying flat. It was £50 from ebay and I'd have to say though I don't think it would stand up to extensive use unlike my cheap stroller. I do agree that the urban detour is so easy to push though, had one for DD and it was great till it got a puncture.

Hello :hello: Bob is still quite tiny, I wasn't thinking about babies, I only ever seem to see 2+ year olds in them :o

I didn't have anything so had no choice but to start over with Squeak. Actually i may have a broken century double in the garage somewhere, but that was the biggest POS I ever had, was temporary infill in between the collapsing maclaren and the urban detour. Most used for when I was going to the doctors cos the urban detour just didn't fit through the door.

Its ok I'm not offended I still love it but I don't think it will last the distance - I do alot of walking apart from the school run.

The manufacturers aren't silly are they. I'm sure they do that on purpose, so you'll have to buy another one.

I've had several M&P pliko's.. the last one I bought was £65 from ebay with all the extras.. and I mean all.. car seat, carrycot etc the works.. I used my last one for DD5 until she was 5 so definitely worth the money I paid.

I hate maclaren, I think they are flimsy and shoddy and look so uncomfy.. We had a zapp too which was horrid, they never look comfy sat in them.

I am looking at the twin nipper 360 for Squeak and Dot... the single has ace reviews

We have one and used it from the twins being born, they are 3 1/2 now - it has been fantastic and would get another like a shot! It has been all over the place, is light (for a double), folds flat and the girls still have loads of room in it. We barely use it now as they walk everywhere but I keep hold of it if I need to go out with them and have them strapped in. Still has loads of use left and doesn't look to bad considering what it has been through!

We got a barely used Mclaren twin techno off a frined as it folded smaller to take away and only used it a few times - awful to push as it got jammed on every pebble and although I am not overly tall I had to push it with my bum and legs sticking out to keep my feet away from the banging the wheels and lower bar at the back:rotfl:

We have a couple of single chicco strollers which we took on holiday but again, barely use them as the girls prefer to walk - they seem to have been fine though but not heavily used.

LOL - yes, someone suggested I went on google earth to have a look - I am hoping they are not quite so bright in reality! We are due to visit this year so will update if we get there:D
