Hi, I am looking for a good long lasting pushchair/buggy. My daughter is only 2yrs 3mth old and we have already gone through 4 buggys.
3 out of the 4 had wheels come off and were unable to be fixed. I have bought brand new and also good condition 2nd hand from ebay but so far havent found one that lasts
I would love to not need a buggy and for my daughter to walk with me but its not possible as we have a 3mile round trip to walk my son to school everyday.
Can anyone recommend?? Please help as Im currently borrowing a mates old buggy and its started to squeek

I had 2 Mclaren Triumphs, one gave up last year after 9 years of use (by 2 kids) and the other was used for 4 years and is doing well having a rest in my attic. Those are the only buggies I have had that have lasted me any length of time.0

you can't beat a maclaren imo - they fold down small and are lightweight - plus lay down flat for when littlie wants to sleep£608.98

My silver cross 3D is still going strong, and my sons 3. Its great, as can be used asa pram for the first 6 months, and is goos over all terrain.0

We've got a Maclaren techno xt and it is fab.
It's almost a year old but still looks brand new and the wheels and brakes are still fine on it.
It's expensive, but maclaren buggys are made to last.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
I'm going to go against the grain here and say that I had a terrible maclaren, had it for my twins from newborn-1 and when they were just 1 it broke and started trying to fold up when you pushed it  I also didn't like pushing it around because it was really hard to steer and seemed to give a really 'bumpy' ride, especially on brick paving, the handles rattled like mad. DD1's maclaren buggy used to rattle as well, I'm surprised she kept all her teeth

Then I had an Urban detour twin, which was an absolute breeze compared to the Maclaren though quite bulky.
I've got a Jane slalom pro this time which is good, only got this one cos OH insisted on a travel system, in your shoes OP I'd go for the Nipper 360.
I honestly cannot imagine pushing a maclaren 3 miles now, whereas the 3 wheelers I mentioned would be no problem.
There are a few silly 3 wheelers - notably the Quinny Zapp and Petite star Zia which everyone was raving about a while back, I've seen a lot of uncomfy looking children in those, very squished looking.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession

dont feel bad at having 4 buggys in 2 and bit years, my sons 2.5 and hes had bout 7-8!! im currently looking at another one as we're moving even further from daughters school, he's quite a small 2.5 yr old and gets tired easily when walking, especially there and back twice a day. im looking at the hauck I'coo as im told they're quite nice and easy to push, have found a gorgeous lime green one locally im just waiting to hear if its still available.
at the minute i have a ziko that was 2nd hand, but it's not up to the walking we do. i dont drive yet so it's used lots, the wheels are wearing, one side of the brake has broken and its just pretty much had it. plus i HATE the floating harness on it, they're not secured to the seat unit on the back so when my son has a strop (usually when we're in sainsburys lol) he can slide himself down and almost get out, drag his feet on the floor and make life very difficult! would never recommend them.0 -
I've had several M&P pliko's.. the last one I bought was £65 from ebay with all the extras.. and I mean all.. car seat, carrycot etc the works.. I used my last one for DD5 until she was 5 so definitely worth the money I paid.
I hate maclaren, I think they are flimsy and shoddy and look so uncomfy.. We had a zapp too which was horrid, they never look comfy sat in them.
I am looking at the twin nipper 360 for Squeak and Dot... the single has ace reviewsLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
