I leave the kitchen blind closed if the kitchen is a mess, but otherwise open everything. I do close the bedroom curtains in the day when Squeak is asleep in bed.
For those not in the know Squeak is the baby, not a very spoilt pet :rotfl:Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession

I absolutely love opening all the curtains in the morning and letting the natural light flood in. I purposely bought a house with huge windows to get as much light inside as possible it. The sitting room window is the height and width of the room!
I can't stand having the curtains shut during the day, but I do close them when it gets dark. Here I go again on my own....0 -
i love to drawn our curtains in the winter when it dark, cold wet and windy outside to keep the house nice and snuggly. i love having window dressings.even tho we have good double glazing, for me the house always feels warmer when the curtains are shut.
But then in the summer, i love it when it is a hot but breezy day drawing the curtains and having the windows wide open so the wind blows the curtains.
were very lucky that we have no one who over looks the back of our house , but of an evening when i'm sat on sofa i like to make sure the curtains are drawn so no one can see in ( who knows what hubby and i are gettin up to,lol). my home is private i hate the thought that from the outside people could see in, so i have voile's and curtains up at window.my childrens bedrooms are at front of house and when they are getting changed if they didn't have voile or curtains who knows who could be walking past and see them. were very priavte people and for me thats why i like to have curtains drawn in evenings.
again as others have mentioned it also makes the house look like their is someone their. i never pull curtains at same time of day, i never set timers for lights for same time as day. randomness is better.0 -
The first thing I do when I get up in the morning is open the curtains to let the light in and have a start to the day. :j
Used to have arguments with someone who refused to do it, drove me mad
My DS was a terrible pain for not opening his:heartpulsOnce a Flylady, always a Flylady:heartpuls0 -
My friend (teacher) used to live in a house in a nice area with other teachers - when in their 20s. Being young and frivolous they would often forget to open the curtains in the sitting room in the mornings.
Their neighbours complained saying it looked like a house of prostitutes and they were lowering the tone:D.
When we moved into this house we took down the nasty net curtains so although we have curtains on the front bay windows - we've no nets and people can see in if they really want to. However, they would have to go right up to the window and peer in so it would be very obvious! Our elderly neighbours opposite were scandalised. I often see the old lady twitching her curtains and looking in at us from her upstairs bedroom window (she gets a better view from there).
Sometimes I feel a bit sorry for her and think about giving her something to look at other than me watching the telly :rotfl:O/S Weight Loss 1.75/80 -
oh don't panic, i am home all day every day with him, we have a garden he is freely able to go in and out of, back door is closed today as it is raining, but he still has his dog flap, usually the back door is wide open for him to run in and out of
Ah, I see. But if you are home presumably you have the curtains open anyway for light for you!0 -

That would be ace. Just print on A4, one word per page, "IF YOU CAN READ THIS YOU'RE BEING A NOSEY NUMPTY" and lay it on the floor.
A waste of paper - and nobody may ever see it, but would make me giggle

Or you may increase the number of peeing toms trying to peer through any crack in the curtains to see if you are enjoying some afternoon delight!
Aye, they're nosey. :rotfl:0 -
The house I now rent out is straight out onto the street. I have a wooden blind, and curtains at the front downstairs window. One night, I was on the 2 seat sofa next to the window, eating my meal and watching TV, when 2 old ladies walked passed, stopped, then looked in and said 'ooh, look, she's eating her tea!' I turned, looked and them and smiled. Around an hour later, they came back in the other direction, and did the same thing, but said 'oooh, she's finished her tea now!' - I was flabbergasted! Another time, I was on the sofa opposite the window, watching tv and 2 kids walked by and said 'that's the house where that woman sits on the sofa in her dressing gown!' - I didn't make a habit of this!0

When i used to ask my nan if we could draw the curtains on a sunny day so i could actually see the episode of Monkey Magic on t.v she would say "no the neighbours will think someone has died!!!" Whats that all about????I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.0
