Drip drip drip feeding the mortgage

Another busy day at work yesterday. The recruitment agency visited and it's all on track now, for getting more staff in. :j
Yesterday I paid my dreaded HMRC tax bill and also cleared the credit card as the 0% interest period had ended. So a very expensive day. Definitely not an NSD especially as DH bought me some flowers. A lovely surprise to come home to.
DD breaks up from school today. I love her to bits but hate the prospect of working 30 hours a week whilst trying to keep her entertained, during the school holidays. If Plan A fails, remember there are 25 more letters0 -
Glad that the parents are recognising that more help is needed - hope it gets easier.
Don't envy you having to work with the kids off school....there are only so many hours in the day for you! Do you have any 'leave' you can take to make things a bit easier? xDebt remaining:

Hi Giblet.
Yes I do have some leave. I have three days coming up next week and then, in August, a week off in Wales.
My plan for tomorrow is to get up early and work from home whilst DD is asleep! That's the plan anywayIf Plan A fails, remember there are 25 more letters0 -
The plan worked. I was up, showered and working by 7.15am. DD didn't wake until 9.15 so that was two hours done.
This afternoon we bought new school blazer and PE shirt as the old ones are too small. Then I needed a few bits and bobs so went to @ldi. I was pleasantly surprised. It was very busy in there though. So a necessary spendy day.If Plan A fails, remember there are 25 more letters0 -
Only 3.5 hours worked yesterday despite getting up early so I have some catching up to do this weekend. Yesterday afternoon DS & DD were both home and they were bored. As a joke I suggested we go virtual caravan shopping so that's what we did. It was a great laugh, checking out all the caravans and pretending which one we were going to buy. Plus seeing DS try and fit his 6'2" body into a child's bunk bed. DD has decided that she would love a caravan though, so I had to remind her that we don't have the money, or a towbar on the car, or anywhere to store one!! I think she got the message. It was good fun and nice to muck about with the kids doing something random.
I felt poorly when we got home and wouldn't have been able to eat salad as I had planned for dinner. Instead of getting a takeaway, we managed to find something else in the freezer and made do with that.
There has been a twist at work. The parents received an email from a London high flyer finance guy looking for a job. They interviewed him and offered him a job on the spot. Getting me some help is now on hold until he starts as the parents would like him to review the situation at work and then decide what we need. So a minor setback in getting some help, but hopefully it will be for the better in the long run.
I'm looking forward to the cooler weather coming. I seem to be the only person who doesn't like this heat.If Plan A fails, remember there are 25 more letters0 -
You're not the only person

Morning.
Giblet, I have heat rash and I haven't been out in the heat. I keep looking at the weather forecast in the hope of rain. I had a peek at your diary. I hope you are feeling better these days.
Food shopping at Mr T yesterday was a whopping £123  It did include lots of cat food, a birthday card, two school shirts for DD, hair dye for DD and £10 of our favourite coffee that was on offer. Now I've written that it doesn't seem too bad.
I've been trying to get the enthusiasm to do some work this morning but I keep reading diaries on here!!
DH & DS have gone out to do a 72 mile bike ride today. They must be mad. It will probably be a quiet afternoon too as DH will fall asleep on the sofa this afternoon, whilst pretending to watch the Grand Prix. :rotfl:If Plan A fails, remember there are 25 more letters0 -
I got fed up with waiting for DH to come back home yesterday so I took DD for a drive to a place I used to go with my grandparents. It was a pretty duck pond in the middle of nowhere and it was much smaller than I remember - my legs have obviously grown since I was there last :rotfl: I resisted all temptation to buy any ice creams, which is good for my pocket and my waistline.
DS is taking DD to the zoo today so I can get on with some work. It's just dawned on me that I only have two days of work this week, but that's just two days to cram in a huge amount of work. I'm trying and failing to not get stressed about it.
£30 to the mortgage account today :TIf Plan A fails, remember there are 25 more letters0 -
Boo to the heat rash - hope it's cooler where you are (it is here, I've even had to close the door today, which has been permanently open for the last two weeks!)
Also hope that work isn't too bad - just think how much better you'll feel when a big chunk of that is done xDebt remaining:

I'm back from three days away with DD. My first time to Devon and I loved it. I would love to live there. Miles and miles of rolling hills and amazing views made me realise that the area we currently live in is getting very built up. Especially as there is a new development of 3000 houses and a school going in at the end of our road. I sent DH a text whilst I was away, to ask him to put our house on the market but he wasn't so keen :rotfl:
The monthly mortgage payment went in on the 1st. It's great to see the mortgage shrinking. Just under £38k now. One of the endowments has less than a year to run so the end is in sight.
Today I noticed that the drains were blocked, luckily Southern Water sent someone out within two hours to unblock them. Then a lazy day, catching up on diaries, making a cherry bakewell cake and updating my financial spreadsheets.
Bye for now.If Plan A fails, remember there are 25 more letters0
