Drip drip drip feeding the mortgage

Hi Goldie.
Thanks for popping in.
I didn't think we had had that much upheaval but when I had a read through, we certainly have. We are still of the mindset that the mortgage will be paid off pronto, we just don't devote too much time to doing it any more.
I did however, make a conscious effort not to book a foreign holiday this year, and to try and save some funds as you never know how secure your job is these days. We have achieved 120% of our target so I am extremely pleased.
Today has been a mixed day. I was organised before I left for work, washing up done, dinner sorted. But on the way home I wanted something sweet so I pulled into M0rrisons Local. Then I realised what I was doing so I walked out empty handed. A major achievement for me. However, when I got home I raided the cupboards, and am now over my calories for the day. So, a mixed day - a NSD, but a non diet day.
Off to have a look at Goldie's diary.
Have a nice evening.If Plan A fails, remember there are 25 more letters0 -
Hi,
Just finished reading your diary and am glad to see how things are progressing! You've done so well, and have come so far from the beginning; not too long to mortgage freedom now
I look forward to reading more xDebt remaining:

Hi Giblet
479 days until mortgage free unless I give up my job........which leads me onto........
Today I decided that I cannot carry on working under the amount of pressure imposed on me. I work for my parents company and I feel a great sense of loyalty to them. But enough is enough. They are currently away on holiday, so when they return next week, I am going to have a little chat. I need some help or I am going to have to leave. I dont want it to sound like a threat though. The stress of my massive workload is having a detrimental effect on my health and my leisure time. I also feel like I don't actually have parents, just employers. On the rare times I see them socially, they talk about work. They don't see any problem interrupting my evenings or holiday time to get me to do something workwise. It's time to make a change. Life is just too short. If Plan A fails, remember there are 25 more letters0 -
That does sound really difficult tjp - hope you find some kind of compromise / solution soon xDebt remaining:

Yet another rubbish day at work. Followed by an ice cream with flake on Portsdown Hill, looking out on Portsmouth, the Solent and the Isle of Wight. Beautiful view, lovely ice cream however I was reeling from the £5 cost for two ice creams.
Despite the hot weather I stick to the meal plan :j DS then went to buy sone fruit from Mr A for me. He asked for chocolate too so I set him a challenge to see how much he could buy for a pound. That was my crafty way of not letting him spend more than £1.00 ha ha.
Beautiful evening sat in the garden, reading with DH, plus sleepy cat on my lap. Bliss. If Plan A fails, remember there are 25 more letters0 -
It's been too hot for me today. Work was stifling and I was glad when it ended.
DH called me on his way home and said he would like to go out for dinner. DD & I came up with a compromise. We bought lovely goodies from our newly opened MandS Food, using a £5 off voucher. We ate outside in the garden which was really nice. So although we spent money, it was about £40 cheaper than going out for dinner.
Diet has gone to pot though. If anyone sees my willpower, could they please send it back to me.If Plan A fails, remember there are 25 more letters0 -
Evening all.
We've had quite a quiet weekend. I had my hair cut yesterday, which is a rare event. Food shopping was relatively cheap because we have so much food in the freezer.
DS & DH went cycling this morning with their cycling club. DD & I went for a lovely walk along a disused railway line. I call it Labrador Walk because it seems to be the favourite place for lab owners to walk their dogs. It makes me realise how much I love dogs, but it's not practical for us to have one.
Tomorrow, hopefully, I shall have a chat with the parents about work. I'm very nervous. I've left employment with them before, many years ago and they asked me to leave immediately and didn't speak to me for three months, so I'm hoping history doesn't repeat itself. If Plan A fails, remember there are 25 more letters0 -
I had a chat with my parents and they agreed that I need help. We are meeting with a recruitment agency this morning. It was not a good day though. My parents had words with another family member about clearing their desk to assist me and it got very heated.
It was an NSD yesterday. And £30 went to the mortgage account.
Plus I stayed within my calories :jIf Plan A fails, remember there are 25 more letters0 -
