Yea its still insured for upto £32. However Royal Mail say they don't have to pay out for lost mail overseas.0 -
Surface mail is generally a bad idea, since the deadline for an "item not received" claim on eBay is 45 days, and surface mail can sometimes take longer than that.0

Sorry, I meant top LH for return address.:o
It makes a small jiffy envelope look horribly crowded..the one I sent last week I had completely forgotten about the new rules, so I ended up with a large address label, an able label with my address on the top LH side, a post office 'postage' label on top RH and the customs label hanging on for dear life at an angle on the bottom LH side.

I would double check with your PO as mine are often odd about these new rules and I can find nothing official about them yet.

Canada for quite a while have required return addresses to be in the top left but I have not heard anything about this requirement for other countries. Has anybody got a link to a PO site about this or is it coming from an eccentric PO like Soo's?0

My Post Office has said the same to me about it. I think for most countries it's a case of this is 'best practice' rather than essential, however with Canada you have to address it the correct way or it will be returned to you. I had one parcel returned from Canada with an official sticker on it that listed all the reasons why my parcel might have been returned. What had I done so wrong that prevented Canada from accepting my parcel? My return address label didn't have my name on it! All the other reasons listed were just as petty.0 -

Have never posted outside of uk before.
But a potential buyer has emailed me to see if i will reconsider selling to USA
I have an item that weighs roughly 250 g,is Airmail small packets the best way to go???
Sorry to sound thick but have always been a bit of a wuzz when it comes to selling further a field.
Thanks in advance
Most services go by airmail unless they want to wait weeks! However most offer a fast service (which is usually delivered to US address with 2-3 days) or a noraml service (which usually takes about a week!).
I've used parcelforce, UPS and FED EX for shipment to US . No problems with any of them.0 -
I agree, I have just used a company to send via a parcel to the USA via UPS and DHL. The company seem to get better rates than going direct with the courier!
I used www.worldwide-parcelservices.co.uk/, I saw lots of other and not to say that others arent good just this one gave me a decent service for a parcel to the states.
