Showing off a bit I'm afraid.
Mine was added to my account today. My deduction was £1205 exactly.

I'm interested how they work these out... anyone got a 'mortgage goodwill' calculation?
I got £1735. Not complaining by any means, but how on earth did they arrive at that figure?!0 -
My friend got £1750 and they are sending her a cheque0

hi,I got a letter yesterday stating £1755 has been credited to our morgage account.when I last spoke to them and asked them if we could not get the money back as a cheque(technically its ours anyway) I was told that no,it would deffinately be refunded to the account. Can I request it anyway? Has anyone already done this and been successful that had not already left the halifax or paid up their morgage? This money would really come in handy and as were already used to paying the amount,I dont see why we cant benefit from it now.any advise would be welcome.Thankyou.0

Sorry,what is the money for?
Read here about it on halifax's website (it wont let me post a link here)
Go to the Halifax's mortgage page, and on the 'help and advice' section, click on the link for 'Information about recently announced mortgage customer contact and goodwill payment programme'
it's basically because they didnt send out a letter to those people affected!

They overcharged people big style and should have been charging 2.5% interest but were charging 3.5% interest hence the difference amounts for everybody
The question is are the refunds right? compound interest and what could you have done with the money you had to pay Halifax, can you now have a mortgage holiday with the Goodwill payment.0 -

If you're in arrears they will insist that is paid off first, you can have the remainder as a cheque. If you're not in arrears just ring again and hope you get someone different."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -
I had a letter that said I wasn't affected by the SVR change, so I guess I wouldn't get this, even though I had the mortgage offer during that date range?0
