Sounds like a charmer.
Yeah I agree; what a charmer, not. This new character of his has kicked off since he asked us to try again at our marriage without telling me said gf was pregnant; he tried to end it with her, she called and told me what the situation was; hence the alleged violence towards her for 'messing things up' for him.. Everything he has done and is subsequently doing by not paying child support is pure spite/revenge for being 'caught out'.
DUTR do you honestly think a DEO could be the final straw then. To be honest I'm quite suprised he hasn't just paid the CSA direct as I thought he wouldn't want any more grief at work but obviously not.

Because everybody is different it is hard (or impossible ) to predict what somebody may do or not do.
When my csa case 1st started, the csa reps were mainly bolshy and wanted to push for deo, I made no bones about packing in work, I pay by SO . Some guys will do everything in their remit to avoid payment (some of this is largely down to the misconception that paying the csa is bad and they are some sort of criminal).
Some decide to just pay up without much resistance, because it is the easier option (and can be cheaper too) .
But looking at a lot of posts on this forum and elsewhere in the real world, a lot of these cases go belly up not through the principle but because one or both sides of the party turn it into a win/lose battle

It may also depend when the cut-off point is for his payroll, for example I'm paid at the end of the month but cut-off is generally around the 15th - if the NRP's company operate in a similar manner then it may be that end of next month is the first collection scheduled, the company then have up until the 19th of the month AFTER making the deduction to pay it to the CSA.0

Izzybusy, i've had the same problem, but i must give you a word of advice - don't rely on those payments, even if they do an attachment of earnings. My kids supposed father's employer should have started regular payments last March. The first payment i recieved was in May, then he skipped a month, then after july's payment he skipped 2 months and halved the amount. And so it has gone on. I got really hopefull this year because i got a decent payment in Jan and Feb! Hooray! But sadly he's missed this month. He owes me over £4,000 last year alone. Him and his misses bring in over £50,000 a year and the recession reuined my business and i'm now unemployed and desperate for a job. I live in the country where our bus service is diabolical (and a half hour walk through darkness in the winter) and now my car has broken down. The nearest supermarket is 8miles away and i can't take my kids to any activities. I can't afford another car.
So please, don't rely on any payments. The csa have given the employer approximately 4 warning letters but still nothing is done. I do hope your story won't end up the way mine has.0 -
izzy I think the point is, to persue the CS but not to invest any emotional energy in it if you can avoid that. xPlease do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0

Hi
Further to my messages earlier; the ex has made a card payment to the CSA but as he has two PWC's he needs to pay, he couldn't pay the full amount outstanding so it has now triggered them to enforce a DEO. He wasn't best pleased and as a result he has asked for a reassessment. I knew he would pull that stunt and I have already budgeted for lower payments in preparation for this. The lady at the CSA said she will try to get him to make card payments until the DEO is up and running but cannot get the DEO up and running until he has completed the forms with payslip evidence and returned them and a new payment schedule has been set up.. surely this information can be obtained from his employer so not sure why they are still reliant on a non complaint NRP to fill out the forms.. arrrgggh  But at least they are trying and did obtain some payment.0 -

I feel your frustration....I am in a similar situation myself.
I too do not understand why the CSA bother with asking the NRP for information they could get directly from the employer for a DEO.
In my experience DEOs are not reliable, as has been said by others on this thread too. I just cross my fingers every month and hope for the best - not good when you have things to budget for, but it is a way of life now.
One thing that really baffles me is, according to the CSA if an employer fails to keep to the DEO schedule they are liable for a fine, but despite my ex's employer messing about on a few occasions, they have not been fined/punished (CSA admitted this and seem to be happy to give infinate 'chances')
The moral of the story is...take all the CSA say with a large pinch of salt, it really depends on who you speak to on any given day on what advice/answer you get!0 -

Sorry ladies that you are frustrated with the CSA and unco-operative ex's, by now you should be starting to realise , they (the csa) are not as super powerful as 1st imagined. The employers cannot fill out the forms as the case is with the NRP not the employers.
If the OPs ex could not make the full amount from the card, then I fear, further payments until a deo is completed will be at best sporadic.
I'm not for one minute suggesting give up, but I do feel it is foolish to think anything will happen too quickly, I'm sure I have seen stories on here where they finally got the NRP to pay up, long after the child was past the qualifying age.0 -

I was specifically referring to obtaining payslips/ proof from the employer, rather than waiting for the NRP to pull their finger out and do it.
IMO the CSA shouldnt boast/threaten powers that they are unwilling or unable to use. Perhaps if they were able to implement these powers, we would get the maintenance we desperately need.0 -

Yep you are right there, the CSA are not as powerful as I thought; I mean its ridiculous; way too much leeway is given to the NRP. We should adopt the way the American's do it; put out WANTED posters for not paying up and sling their backsides in jail and mean it; not just some half hearted threat of jail or losing their licence/passports etc.
Don't worry DUTR I shan't be hooking up with any loser's again and I will phone the CSA every week if I have to til they are sick of me
