OMG!! This is going to take me days to do, I've emptied 3 boxes and put back what should be in them and chucked the rest in the mess on the floor. I already have 1/2 a bag of rubbish and some bits that I want to keep as keepsakes. So much carp though.

    Back again :D

Got all the boxes sorted and on the shelves so it is just a case now of picking things off the floor and putting in said boxes.

They had about 30 different jigsaws, mainly Thomas and they have tipped them every where and destroyed the boxes. So I am just going to bin them. I hate doing it as some were from when DH was a boy but I just cannot sort them, it is an impossible job especially as I know that bits will be missing because I keep finding them around the house.

Postman came and bought a 3rd pair of jeans and took 2 pairs back. Still to bloody long. This is really getting on my nerves now. All I want is a pair of jeans that are 27" inside leg, not say they are and then turn out to be 29".

Happy anniversary Taplady I too had a simple ceremony .we dragged to complete strangers in off the street as witnesses (I think they were students at one of the colleges in Oxford where we lived at the time)and took them for steak and chips afterwards just me ,OH and these two people, never saw them again but we had a nice day all the same Our meal came to £9.00 ( almost a weeks wages in 1962) and my wedding ring cost my OH £4.00 second-hand from a tiny jewellers in OxfordI still wear it to this day and never wanted to change it as its never been off my finger since that day.Even when I had my big op I got them to tape over it.We were extremely broke for the ensuing ten years or so but like all things we got through it.I had met and married him within 41 days (against all my families voices of disapproval) and it lasted until I sadly lost him in 2003.I think you just 'know'if its going to be o.k.
Well dentist wasn't too bad only needed a clean and polish so I won't need to see him until September hopefully.Just off to make a large coffee and some lunch
    Cheers JackieO xx

it is our 23rd wedding anniversary today:love: we celebrated with a meal out on Saturday as both of us are working today - me until 10pm so wont see much of each other. We had a quiet registry office wedding with a buffet afterwards at my Nans house - only a few people were there. I always remember my Nan coming out to greet me and saying how beautiful I looked:) DH and I went out for a meal at a local hotel that night - no honeymoon as we were skint although we did manage a week away later in the year in a caravan in Wales:D a bit different from the weddings nowadays but I've always believed that most of the expense of big flash weddings is for other peoples benefit and for show I'm glad we had a small 'do'.

    Happy Anniversary Taplady
We were talking about our wedding day on Saturday (we will have been married 30 years in August).
We had a lovely church wedding, sit down meal and buffet at the local social club (catered for by my friends Mom) and a live band.
Lots of friends and family came (in fact the room was full to bursting). We then spent our wedding night at my SIL`s house and went on to spend our honeymoon in a caravan in Great Yarmouth.
Looks like most of us spent our honeymoons in caravans in the 80`s :D
A fantastic time was had by us all and it didn`t cost much.

Anyway back to today - after a foggy start it`s lovely and sunny now. I have 2 lots of washing to hang on the line.

Forgot to take the braising steak for tea out of the freezer until this morning hoping it will be defrosted by 1.00pm so that I can put it in the slow cooker at lunchtime.

Hoping everyone who`s feeling ill starts to get better soon. My DGS is off nursery today. He`s not been well since Thursday. This means that DD has had to to take an emergency days holiday off work. Let`s hope he`s on the mend soon.

Have a great day everyone :)

Well I am starting to see glimpses of floor. Not much but it is there. I have so far got one full bin bag, so much stuff has been broken where they have walked on top of it, it makes me want to cry. I have a black bin bag full of stuff that will be saved and go up in the loft. Have hidden it so that little fingers don't get in it and things removed. Will sort it out and washit down, remove batteries etc. later.

Off to get my lunch now as my stomach is rumbling, will have another caffeine dose as well.

    Good afternoon all
am at work today, didn't get time to read this morning before I left, did a bit of flying instead!
Got two loads on the washing line, and fingers crossed it stays dry and windy here. Suns still trying to peep through.
I seem to have really missed that hour we lost yesterday, and am all over the place today. I am trying to write my review but have to keep checking in to see how Tigerfeet is getting on with her "room of doom", it brings back so many memories of my daughter when she was small, and is making me chuckle.
We used to play "keep or chuck" with her things, get every single thing out and divide the room into piles, keep meant she had to find somewhere to put it, chuck was either going to CS or passed on to friends/family with smaller children, or actually going in the bin! We really need to re-instate that game looking at the state of her bedroom today.

no decorating got done yesterday, DH was too busy enjoying the sunshine, and a friend dropped in to say hi, and we sank two bottles of wine in about 90 minutes. oops!

dinner tonight is a mad combination with a vaguely chinese theme, I inventoried the freezer and cupboards on saturday in an attempt to use everything up, so we have some chinese rib burger things, stirfry veg, and some mini party sized pancake rolls left from Christmas!

Tigerfeet, keep it up, you're doing great!
Taplady hope you have a lovely anniversary.

have a good day all x

    Afternoon all

Happy anniversary taplady (& DH) We had a 'bargain' wedding, too, nearly 25 years ago - register office, local club with self catering preceded by a weekend on the coast! Hoping to do something good to mark our silver anniversary later in the year.

We have a share of the shiny, yellow ball today - thanks to whoever's sharing! :D Still haven't planted apple trees, so have that to do this afternoon. Also been offered as many strawberry plants as I can fit in the garden, so will visit that lady before the end of the week - yippee!

I have another interview tomorrow (didn't get other job a couple of weeks ago)! Just a job as an order picker for online shoppers, so not wonderful money, but an interview for any job is good as far as I'm concerned. I have a good wage in April, around £500 (average is about £250/300), then the new contract kicks in at a measly £65 a month, so I'm desperate for an extra income!

Going to ignore the washing up & the rest of the carp so that I can the littlies to play at a friend's house - the mess will still be there when they're in bed!

Have a lovely afternoon all, see you later.

    A xo
