Hi, this is the Daily Thread for xx (add date). This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
All the usual morning chores are done, it's overcast here & with the clocks changing it was very dark taking hubby to the station, so I was back to trying to avoid cyclists dressed in black with no lights on.
I'm off to work soon, another day of fun packed enjoyment, I'm taking my knitting to do during my lunch break, I'm still knitting dishcloths, I have 3 balls of orange & yellow random cotton to use up.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning Hester and all to follow,
Had such a bad night here, think I saw every hour as it passed, OH and I both have the most terrible cough and cold, and he was coughing so much all night that he was reaching and could not get his breath, so about 2 hours sleep here, might have a nap later on, needless to say he is not at work today.
We got the front garden done yesterday, it looks great will put some photos on fb later on.
Need to do an online shop later on, and will get some washing done and hoover round, need to plant my new hostas too :T.
Dinner tonight will be roast chook, with roasties and veg, need to meet dd from school and drop some stuff off for her photography GCSE, and drop her CV off at the posh clothes shop.
Ok better get on, have good days all xx0 -
Good morning Hester, Redruby and all to follow,
Cloudy, grey start here this morning. At least there is no frost.
Will put WM on and peg the washing out anyway and keep fingers crossed.
Dinner tonight is omelette Arnold Bennett for DH and me. I am cheating a little as I got some woopsied smoked fish, but it is not haddock. Hope it turns out OK;)
Have meal planned our week as usual with 7 to eat on Tuesday and the pair of us for the rest of the week. However, my DS has said he will probably make a 24hr visit sometime this week. It will be fantastic to see him. This means though that at least one (if not two) of our meals will have to change in order to feed 8. DD and family will want to join us if we have DS here, the boys adore him:)
RR so sorry you are both feeling so rough. Keep up your vitamin intake.
Happy Monday peeps. Hugs to those that need or want them,
Cheers m'dears, Silver xOutside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

All up, kids are bickering already Happy Monday!!!!
Have to go to GP today and talk about the stress at work, will also of course inform work that I won't be in today. Feels very odd not going in but there's plenty to fill my day today. Am going to pretend i'm on annual leave so I don't get upset about it for now. Also need to contact union rep again to get mat pay sorted.
Will go out to kennels and get dog food today, also back on the million school runs cos DS2 won't be going to childcare due to abrupt change in work circumstances! Still, it'll give us some time together before he starts full time school in September.
Usual housework jobs today WM, DW, Tea is chicken Jalfrezi for us and Pasta with HM sauce for the kids. DS1 is back on packed lunches this week, again because of change in work but he seems surprisingly happy about it!!!!
Have a lovely day all

Morning all
Bright but chilly as we've had a frost overnight. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock.
Had a busy weekend, took caravan in for service after DH had finished work on Saturday afternoon, then cooked roast beef dinner, just as I was cooking veg etc, friends arrived but didn't stay to eat.
On Sunday boys had Rugby, DS1 had a home match, another excellent game which they won, both teams were pretty equally matched and some very good rugby played by both teams. DS2's game was cancelled so he did training instead. DH had already left home at 7.30am to collect some new equipment and deliver it to the lock-up where all the centre equipment is stored. In the afternoon we went to meet friends at venue for caravan rally and function to run through details etc, so busy day, was pleased to get home at 4.30pm, have some dinner, glass of wine, organise pack-ups for today etc, put a load in the WM. Load to go out on line now.
Dinner tonight is fish, chips/jacket pot, beans/veg/salad - nice easy dinner as I'm at work all day.
Have to go and crack on.
Have a good day everyone.
Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Morning chapess's.
Absolutly knackered this morning, did not sleep well.
Sorry to hear you and your OH are feeling rough Ruby.
Hope you manage to get a Dr.'s appointment quite quickly Miecheroux.
Have to take the boys to school today so that will eat into my morning. I am going to attempt to face the room of doom today, otherwise known as the littlies bedroom. They have fairly much trashed it and it is ankle deep in toys. So I am going to be ruthless and chuck and CS as much as I can. So look out for my lists today

Morning all - house looks like a bomb has hit it (we spent the nice weather outside in the garden working this weekend) and I have a tidy OCD friend coming to stay!! So need to get on with it. OH is doing the school run, so I'll get on with it. Need to take the lawnmower in to be looked at as we couldn't get it started yesterday (grr) but otherwise have a mountain of ironing (that I might save for Waking the dead!).
Dog 2 has settled in well at neighbours (miss her heaps, but can't give away a child can I?) Dog 1 settled a bit as he was a bit clingy for a while. Can't wait til the kids are in school as then peace reigns (YIPEEEE). Need another coffee before I attack the housework.
Love to those people feeling poorly, and very positive vibes to everyone elase - we CAN move mountains!! xxMe, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
morning all!
The yellow orb has gone and has been replaced with a dark grey clouds with a showering of coldness. Fingers crossed by mid-day it should have warmed up.
My plan for today do the dreaded shopping
. only going to spend about £10, famous last words:p. Then i have to de-flea the house, well more of a prevention, the fleas haven't started biting yet. So going to get the spray out, hopefully if i do this now, the house won't be swarming with them.
In addition to the above, also going to throw more carp out, make some buns, make a chicken and mushroom pie for tea, also attempt tp do some flyladying, as i've failed miserably so far.
Well better get a shift on and get the kids sorted for school.
Have a good day all x0 -
