Barclaycard

just tried applying to a barclaycard - can't make a decision just yet, will let me know in 5 days :mad::mad::mad:...

Have an excellent credit rating though... Must be because I am self-employed. Would my self-employed status be the reason why they will let me know in 5 days?

Interesting that a search hasn't been recorded on my creditexpert hmmm.
Credit Card Debts: £11,605.95/£16,240.53 - 71% paid off.

£4,634.61 credit card debt remaining. Aim for credit card debt free before

Yes, no doubt it is. I applied online and was accepted at the end of the application. Given a credit limit more than the value of the 2 balance transfers I wanted to make.

  • Oh dear... forgot to tick the balance transfer selection... hope this won't be a problem.

Okay thanks. I think I'll get a phone call to explain all!!! Really do need to transfer 9k to save £150 interest per month.

I had the same, I had just moved though. Got a letter saying I was accepted after 5 days. I have to provide three forms of ID though, hassle!

Systems (card provider and/or CRA) may often be down at weekends. To be in with a good chance of an instant decision, I've found it's generally best to apply during the week, and preferably during office hours.

And if it is "excellent" how come you're paying (£150 per month) interest?

Or do you mean you're currently enjoying 0% and are trying to shift the balance before this promotional rate expires and you start to pay £150 per month?

That's probably because they checked your equifax file, not experian.
I don't make mistakes! I make prophecies which immediately turn out to be wrong...............
  • Star-file ... actually a good rather than an excellent credit rating – much of an exaggeration.
YorkshireBoy – good point will keep note...the debt is on my mothers card where I am an additional card holder – looking to transfer over to my name.
Fishty – have checked with Equifax – the search is registered with them. But out of curiosity its strange that if I were to apply to nationwide, who I think search at creditexpert, they won’t know that I have recently applied to Barclaycard.

I was a natwest in January and they said they won’t search my credit report, just looked at Equifax and there we are, a search registered. Complete idiots.
