  • It's a shame you didn't 'accidently' break something that was in the box when you fell-that would teach them :rotfl: But I hope you went and had a nice big piece of cake as pigpen suggested!!

    Hugs.

However, as an aside, could you get some different laundry baskets you could see round? I'd hate for you to seriously hurt yourself next time.

I have something thin and with a handle, for that reason, I got them from Ikea.

maybe it wasn't there when she went up?

I'm another huge fan of IKEA bags for laundry. Apart from anything else, on the rare occasions they are empty, they don't take up any space.

Do hope your foot is feeling better now and the steam has cooled.

Did you get to go out?

In terms of joining the laundry basket recommendation, I highly recommend this basket from Lakeland, I think John Lewis sell them too.

I fill it up to the second to last holes at the top, so I know it will all fit in the machine, and then I hold the basket with one hand and walk down the stairs like a shopping bag.

Great for bringing down stairs, sturdy and open for hanging out and perfect dimensions for putting in the ironing articles ready for going back up again

I throw all the laundry downstairs and have the minions pick it up and take it to the wash.. or I have them throw it down too.. Or OH is asked to bring full baskets whenever he goes up.

You should read the book "The Pile of Stuff at the Bottom of the Stairs" that I have just finished.

Found myself saying OUT LOUD, "Yes! yes!" at all the things her OH and children do, waiting for her (and, in my house, ME!) to sort out/tidy up/deal with.

And as you have a bad ankle, what better excuse do you need to sit reading a book, eating a cream cake?

In retrospect, it may have been a bit dangerous if people went around not looking where they were going, but when I was growing up it was normal in my house to pop something that needed putting away at the bottom of the stairs for the next person who passed to take up. Helped keep the place tidy.:)
