  • I have read a number of comments and questions on this site about whether Sundrive is really too good to be true. Take it from me, it is and DO NOT touch them.

I hired a motorhome, it never arrived, I did not recieve any call telling me that it would not be arriving or why, However they took over £500 from my account on 11th May. To date I have been unable to get anyone to speak to me or call me back, never get beyond a receptionist who insists that there is no one there or they are all too busy to speak to me.

Am I the only one who has had this experience?????

Hi journalist1, can I ask why you are investigating? I have a booking with this company next week. :(

did it turn up? Mine didn't, and they've take my money! Can't get it back now!!
  • Hi everyone,
I'm a journalist for a national newspaper investigating Sundrivehire. If anyone has any information on this company, I'd greatly appreciate a call, 078 70 626 456.

I would happily healp in any way I can. I don't have any information about the company but I can certainly be used as an example of someone that is out of pocket and trying to get her money back..with little luck!

I am such a plonker :wall:

I am lucky enough to have F1 tickets to Silverstone in a couple of weeks and needed a motorhome for the weekend.
I looked around and found Sundrivehire who quoted me £255 for a 4 berth motorhome (only 2 of us) Friday to Monday and they deliver / collect the vehicle to me :) So I booked it right away.
But hold on, thats only £63.75 per day and is there 2 of them to deliver / collect or do they walk back
I then heard about them on the internet and Radio 4 so I cancelled the booking. I rang the serviced office and they put me through to a Gerrard French, strangely when they put me through I got that ring tone as if you was calling a number abroard
Anyway Gerrard told me he will refund my money by this Friday so we will have to wait and see
Now I need to find another motorhome rental
I will let you know what happens

Back to subject, have you considered hiring a camper in France? Easier drive and cheaper ferry plus LHD and less of a target for thieves. Put "location camping car" into google and get Hertz and loads more available.

Have today called them to clarify details of my booking. Switchboard are reading out a scripted statement to the effect that they have ceased trading. No-one who knows anything is able to deal with phonecalls:mad:
