Sorry if I didn't explain it properly I am referring to net profit margin. For those who are unsure what I mean

    Turnover minus Cost of Goods/Services/Wages/Tax

But given most of their costs will be relatively fixed, to make an additional (say) £100 they just need to sell (say) an additional £250 of goods, far lower than you were suggesting.

Can you tell me if alll stores honour this? Or do people have problems with this at customer services as well?!

There should be a blue board/sticker at cs desks in all stores which has this policy on it - look for 'If things dont add up' near the bottom. Some cs staff are lovely and offer dtd as soon as they check the overcharge, some need reminding of the policy and some will act as though you taking the food from their table and need to be made to comply with company policy by their manager - why these people are employed as cs is beyond me.

    Sorry about your job. :(

The thing is I'm all about getting what you can when you can, BUT, this isn't a glitch where you have to grab as much as you can when you can....this is a promotion which could go on for a while if people are sensible. I don't think Mr T thought this through very well but it is what it is and they would look like idiots if they stopped it now, so it will go on until a time comes when Mr T says enough is enough. Of course that could be tomorrow, or it could run for another month. The only way it will continue is if the majority of people who use it, do so in a sensible manner.

Yeah, if people are careful about it and stick with the rules, this is something that COULD go on for a while. Mr T never thought through it very well. Enjoy it while it lasts though :)

That would be 100,000 customer transactions x 2500 stores = 250,000,000 transactions per week.

    Steady on, old chap ;)

Careful I have never stated that 100000 customers will apply to all stores, You have a lot of expresses etc which will not get these figures but you cannot obtain vouchers in these stores either.

And yes you will get more then 100000 transactions in a lot of the larger stores.

Also customers visit more than once a week which all adds to the total figure

why are we trying to do tescos calculations for them?!?!

all you need to know is this dtd shopping will not cause them to go into liquidation and thats for bloody sure!!!!!!!

they will end up billions of pounds in profits (without paying tax here) so this wont stop the corporate giant but every little helps :)

Vouchers came so late today. By the time I got to Tescos I was chasing up and down the isles like a contestant on Dale Wintons "Supermarket Sweep"! :D

thanks floflo... so if someone bought 2 packs of the teabags which T's are sellong on offer for £6 does that mean you would only get £4 dtd for the 2 packs bought? so its only worth buying the 1 pack?

also, in theory if i didnt have a computer to 'compare' the prices, would i have to go to the help desk for them to find out for me?

Just wondering how poeple are suposed to compare the prices if they dont go on the computer...

    huh?????????
how are you here right now if not on computer?
and if you are on iphone, blackberry etc can't you use the same internet to go to asda.com ??
    i'm confused!
