Strange times Hypno, all part of modern living I suppose.

PS - Hobbs sale is on, she says, 6 dresses, 4 tops and 3 pairs of socks later :T:cool::D:rotfl::eek:

Hobbs sale you say? Ooh, I see a lovely way to spend Fathers Day ahead of me :rotfl:

Polo was a non starter really - the showers were very heavy even if the sunny bits in between were nice. I didn't pay for my ticket so when the girl who did announced that it really didn't appeal in the rain, I wasn't going to say otherwise! Instead we had a lovely pub lunch and a cuppa or two at mine.....not quite the afternoon we had planned, but a lovely afternoon nonetheless.

DD survived her first driving lesson and is quite excited about having more, so that is good. Both kids now with their Dad for the evening and for Fathers Day tomorrow so I have the place to myself. Bit of pottering perhaps, something for dinner and an early night I guess.

  • It is a period of readjustment for them- but they have level heads on their shoulders and i am sure it will all work out in the long run Hypno..meanwhile there is that trip to Rome to plan for :) Good times.

Yes, they are good kids, and we are a very strong little family unit, so it will all be fine.....but it does just throw a few odds and ends into the mix for them to deal with, of course.

As for Rome.....am I allowed to ask the Universe if it will arrange for me to be swept off my feet and taken there on a weekend that is more romantic than the one I had with my Mother? :rotfl:

I am ok, thanks KC - But of course it affects me and the children in different ways, and as their Mum I just want to make sure it is as ok as it can be for them, yet at the same time I am pretty powerless to have any input into the situation......and I do find being the strong one all the time quite draining at times!

But, of course, I am very lucky to have good friends around me, as are the children, and it is at times like these that the support from those friends is invaluable.

And, we are all very aware that it could be a whole lot worse - I have heard some real horror stories of divorcing families,......we aren't doing so badly, all things considered.

I think it is harder for me right now because it is Father's day tomorrow and of course that is one of the days I miss my own dad.....just bad timing I suppose, but then is there ever "good" timing? Probably not!

But yes, I am ok x

Have you seen this campaign on FB Hypno?

In honor of Father's Day we are trying to see how many of you are willing to change your profile picture to a picture of your dad and keep it there till June 19. I did and so have several others. If you like this idea, please repost this as your status so everyone gets the word and see how many fathers show up on FB. Repost even if your father is with the angels.

I don't have any electronic photo's of my Dad, or access to a scanner, but think it is a lovely idea.

Yes, I have seen that too, but have no photos of Dad on the computer, and no access to a scanner either. :(

I have plenty of photos of him, just not able to put them on fb at the mo.

I think it is a lovely idea though!
