Well done on the bonus..at least the car is taxedBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

So....fingers crossed that the ash cloud doesn't affect things in the next couple of days! And DT, I have my bag of euro change ready for the fountain!
Today, when I get to work, I will be working out exactly how much of my bonus will be allocated to expenses, and what I have left for a bit of savings - even if I only put a few ££ away, I want to be able to save some of it. Just because I can! I am going to be paying for my summer holiday today, though, which will be a biggish cost, but again one that is lovely to pay in "cash" for a change!

Well done on the bonus Hypno. Can't wait to get to Rome either, also slightly worried about the ash cloud in case is messes things up, we're a week later, don't know if that will turn out to be a good or bad thing re. ash!!
URG123 - happy first aniversary, Bruges is one of my favorite place. Only warning is it's mossie season with the canals!! So 'be prepared'Ok I'm their favorite food source which doesn't help - OH gets ignored when I'm nearby. If you don't want moules et frites, or mayo et frites, we go to a sicilian restaurant there called Sale e Pepe, it's one the locals use, it's down a very narrow alley but near the big square, you do tend to need to phone to get a table, it's not the cheapest, but for a special meal it could be nice. Tripadvisor has it at 4 *s, but that seems like just a few recent ones gave it unusually low scores. We'll be there on Wednesday next week if we can get a table on our way back to England.
