I agree with Helen105, I was sadly shocked this year at how expensive it was to buy everyday things in France thanks to the Euro exchange rate, went wayyyy over budget
We took a suitcase full of food and cleaning stuff in the car, OH thought I was mad until he realised how useful it was to have goodies, especially as he doesn't eat gluten or dairy.....we also had a plug in coolbag that I borrowed from a friend that was great for taking DD's Quorn stuff (as you can't get it in France) and OH's bacon...sad beggar wanted his traditional breakfast every day! I found it good for bringing back cheese

Not all going to plan.......!
Had booked a load of pre-hol treatments at my usual salon.....turned up to find a note on the door saying receivers had been called in
So...panic....of the hairy leg kind :eek::eek:
Dashed to another salon - thankfully they were still open, and the owner was just getting ready to leave.....explained my hairy dilemma and she did wax my legs and bikini line to see me through!
On the plus side - it cost less as I didn't have "the works" that I had booked at the other place.
But boy was I stressed temporarily!
Because I didn't have as much done as I had planned, I then found I was finished early, so instead of my aim of just meeting the girls at 8, I have dashed home, flung a few bits in my bag ready for the hols, and am kidding myself that it is all good, and that I am now far more organised than I would otherwise have been
Problem is, now I am home, I am less inclined to go out, but it is a birthday bash so I really should make the effort, and once I am out it will be fine.
Not aiming for a late night though - need some sleep somewhere along the lines - I have a long long drive ahead of me when I finish work tomorrow!!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Thats not nice! On any level
I hope you enjoy whatever it is you do - I bet you *do* go out, this Hypno does, but you don't *have* to, you know. We trust your judgement about what's right for you :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I will go.....my friend who I am holidaying with has already said she can't go because of pressure of work to get done before we set off....so I feel that to pull out as well would look as though we weren't bothered, and whilst the birthday girl isn't my closest friend, it must be awful if several people start pulling out at the last minute.
So, effort will be made......just necking a coffee......and off I go!

Hi, Hypno,
Might be as well to throw in something waterproof, too. I'm afraid that Accuweather is forecasting some rainy days down there from the 20th. This link may work
http://www.accuweather.com/en-us/fr/provence-alpes-c%c3%b4te-d'azur/antibes/forecast2.aspx
If not, go to www.acuweather.com, then "World Weather" & search for Antibes. I hope they're wrong but better to be prepared (and dry!) than sorry.
I'm sure you'll have a great time. I think we'll be on our way down as you're on your way back. I would wave, but we'll be on a very fast train!!0 -
Whatever the weather does, we will have a good time!
So.....last day at work....plenty to do. Was glad I went out last night...was late home but was driving so had nothing to drink therefore slept well and woke with a clear head to face my day and get into holiday mode
My bags are pretty much packed - DD will sort the car out while I am at work, and then we can make a fairly quick getaway this evening.
So....on with the day! Have a good oneSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

Our shuttle crossing is at 5am tomorrow, KC, so I am travelling most of the way down there tonight to allow myself hopefully to get a few hours sleep ahead of the longer part of the journey tomorrow.
We'll see how it goes!!
