Will do, chev, although I confess we never got around to talking about the challenges the other night, so I have no idea what is happening with them. We just had so much to catch up on, we couldn't fit it all in!!
A pottering day for me today.....and the sun is due to shine all day, so a fair amount of my pottering will be on my sun lounger

Sooooo.......August already  The year is flying by!
In money news, of course, that means the mortgage payment is made, and the signature amended accordingly. Slowly slowly, but heading in the right direction. Also 1st month sees my regular savings payment made, so that pot is also heading in the right direction.
P will be setting up a "Rome" pot too, and we are hoping to head over there for a girly break in the spring.....very much looking forward to that already, and definite motivation to keep up the no-coffee routine.
In less lovely money news, my monthly gas/electric is being increased from £68 to £99  Big increase, but is actually still less than I was paying at the old house. I confess that the meters have only been read once since we moved in, so previous bills were estimated, and I didn't check and correct them.....needless to say, a reminder has been given to the children about leaving lights on etc and we will be paying a bit of attention to these bad habits as we go into autumn/winter in particular.
Anyway, back to nice things - the sun is finally shining in Norfolk, and I have a lovely lunch to look forward to. All is well in my world :cool:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. I was up your way on Saturday, was playing at Sprowston Manor. Gave you a little wave as I went past your turning on the A140
(bizarre I know, as I have never met you!)
Hope the finger is healing OK and the swelling is going down0 -
One day when you are this way, you MUST give me a shout so we can at least grab a coffee! And if you ever need an overnight stay, just let me know!
The finger is still very swollen, but early days yet.....back to the hospital on Thursday.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

I hate when DD go up- having moved account again mine has gone down. I am monitoring how much we use per week and keeping a weather on things like computers and TV's left on standby. Surprising how it all makes a difference.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
At the old house, our bills were really high, so it made me focused on keeping things switched off etc etc to keep things as low as possible.
Because this house is a very efficient house to heat etc, I confess to having become lazy in keeping tabs on the usage, just enjoying the fact that it is cheaper to live here than the old place.
Now it is still cheaper than the old place, but I can't afford to let it continue like this. The difference in the old DD and the new amount amounts to a couple of lovely lunches.......and I know which I would prefer to be paying out for!!
In other news - I have blitzed DS's bedroom as he is with his dad this week.....quite some task, and one that is well overdue! But to his credit, I didn't find anything *too* horrific.......:p
Time to sit down with a glass of something as a well earned reward.....hope you are all having a good evening!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
