Its just one of those bad luck annoying things
Oh well, in the grand scheme of life, its not so bad really is it. Is good for a laugh in the office for a day or so, anyway!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

The important question is - can you do a press up with your finger like that?? Or are you going to have to do them one handed?? :eek:0

Sorry to hear about your finger Hypno. It sounds nasty and painful. My OH did something similar when putting on a sock!
Enjoy your evening come what may, (I'm sure you will in any event!). Does the snooze button winning on many mornings mean you're sleeping well these days? If so, phew! I shall see what transpires tomorrow.....this could be the excuse I am looking for to miss those two 30 second periods of hell!
V - generally I am sleeping better, yes. As you say, it is a long time coming. Its not perfect, and obv some nights are still pretty crappy, but I usually know exactly why, which is a good start! But in general sleep quality and quantity is certainly improving. Another sign that life is settling down nicelySuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Sorry to hear about your finger, hypno. And I'm very sorry to be hijacking your thread, but I have a question re school leavers, which I can't get an answer to by googling and I know that people with that age children write on your thread, soooo, if I may be so bold to gatecrash the party (with lots of apologies, but no wine or Pringles) ...
Do (senior) schools generally have a graduation ceremony and hand out graduation certificates? I don't think they do, but I need to know for sure. (It's for a work question, I didn't just randomly wonder about it during my coffee break.) And if schools do something, isn't it usually called Leavers' [Something?]?"Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.0 -
On my way back to work. Too much swelling to do anything other than put a splint on. I've got an appt to go back next week.

Hi Wordsmith - hijack away.
My childrens high school has a leavers' assembly when they give out various awards, but obviously because the actual exam results are not known until some weeks later, the awards are only internal or sporting related ones.
It may seem to "outsiders" to be just an end of term thing of little importance and that is certainly how I saw it. However a couple of years ago, a small minority of year 11s were particularly disruptive during exam season in some way, and as a "punishment" the leavers' assembly was cancelled. This resulted in a sit in protest by the rest of the year 11s, the press and the tv cameras were called (very "Waterloo Road!!), and the assembly was reinstated.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Thanks so much, hypno. That's what I thought. I am working on a particularly dire book for which there is little hope - but at least it would be nice if the author could get the facts right! I will de-hijack now. Hope the finger gets better. I was going to say it must be awfully awkward having a middle finger out of action, but I fear that could be misconstrued. So I will just hope it is not too painful and remove myself from the party forthwith."Green pastures are before me,
