Our tickets were rather more than that, MiT - but I am sure it will be a good evening out......weather permitting, of course as it will be in the forest, and we are looking forward to it.

Had a lovely lunch out today - I seem to have cracked the food/snacking habit again, which actually means I am enjoying my meals a lot more than I was before, if that makes any sort of sense! I've also got my running mojo back (have been a bit hit and miss there too recently) and have been out for a lovely 40 mins run this evening, which was gorgeous in the evening sunshine around the lanes :)

I did buy a coffee today.....but I'll let myself off that one as everything else has gone well :o

    Life is still good :D:D:D

Glad things are good for you - you deserve it !

DD is back from Ecuador - had a fantastic time (photos on FB) and despite having travelled for 24hours with no sleep she talked non-stop the whole way home from heathrow !

Niece and nephew arrive Wednesday from USA and I have an assignment to try and start and finish !

At least the sun is shining, so other problems are on back boiler

Thanks surfbabe - yes things are still good, but no room for complacency. I am all too aware of how quickly and easily things can take an unexpected turn.

Me to Hypno, i have been a bit lax on the old spending front the past few weeks. Not ultra bad, but i could be better. :(

I'm still keeping a relatively close eye on it, bob, but this darned social life can be expensive!

And as for dating.....well, I am sure it wasn't *that* expensive when I was a teenager (which was the last time I had to do all that!). Mind you, I do rather look forward to more than a cone of chips nowadays :o:rotfl:

I think my biggest problem, spends wise, has been the additional snacking and coffees. And generally being disorganised over bringing packed lunches in etc has cost me a fortune over the last few months.....but I am back on the food spends wagon :)

Morning all - fairly sure that lunch will be at my desk today, so brought in a piece of baked salmon that I did last night, and have some salady bits that I can put with it for a yummy and healthy lunch.

Also managed to do without buying coffee - I have bought some fizzy water instead. Not as good as still water, I know, but must be better than the amount of coffee I drink.....

Bananas and celery sticks for snacks too :A

Have a good one, whatever you are doing!

mmmmm - your lunch sounds good! - must make note of that one for the meal plan - do you buy your salmon fresh or in frozen portions? & how do you cook it???

i'm doing a homemade tuna pasta salad today (low fat/high protein) with lots and lots of finely chopped veggies in it - a litre of still bottled water and a flask of herbal tea to up the liquid intake - and some grapes to curb the sweet attack - this healthy lunch thing is so much more effort than a handful of nuts, an ounce of chocolate and 3 cups of coffee!

I used fresh salmon fillets - they are always on 3 packs for £10 type offer in the supermarkets and freeze really well.

I just put some black pepper, herbs, dried chilli flakes over them, and squeezed half a lime (leftover from g&t earlier in the week :rotfl:) over them, and then wrapped them in tin foil, and baked in the oven at 190 degrees for about 18 minutes. Because they are in the foil, they stay very lovely and juicy, and they are lovely as part of a salad too.

I'm trying to do more protein less bad carbs, although with the increased running, I know that I cannot cut out the carbs altogether. Porridge for breakfast is my other "good habit swap" rather than the pastry when I pass Greggs near the office!

I am trying to up my protein intake rather than carbs- i rely on carbs too much, especially bread.
