Got a Nokia N8. Love it, for the camera, good sound, hardware, and battery life. Software has improved as well. If not bothered about camera/music, go for the HTC desire. Its a lovely phone.

Mixed reviews on which of the two are the better model
Wildfire is better built with a better camera, OSF is superior in every other way.

Another vote from me for the San Francisco. Unlocking can apparently be done with no extra cost.

That Nokia is crap, I used one in AU & promptly got a refund from Virgin AU.

I like your son recommend a Blackberry, instant secure e mail and free messaging with Blackberry Messenger I have a Pearl 3G on Orange as it is a traditional mobile keypad not a physical qwerty which can be fiddly if your fingers are not the petite of the petite (like the Nokia)

Pearl 3G is cheap as hell on 3 @ £150

The other unique point with The other unique point with Blackberry is Blackberry allow you to download all the software to re-install the operating system on the handset if you have problems with it so it is the only handset I have never had to send away for a "acting dodgy" software repair

https://www.crackberry.com are much better at helping you than most networks or handset manufacturer's as it is provided by a massive community of Blackberry users.
