I know it is pronounced Abervan, but everytime I see that username I think of Aberfan, sorry. Just as well no one has the username chocolatefudgecake, that would be bad for both moneysaving and my diet - no £50 a week shopping bill then, particularly if they were as prolific as Quasar!0

I loved the tip on cutting up a tube to get the last bits off, and using the cut top half as the lid! Ive read that tip before but seeing it done made it easy to do; so far 3 days worth of face cream saved and still more in the tube! :-)First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
New forever home- Sep’21 £309,449 @ 2.05%. Plan to clear it before 30 years!!!!!!0 -
I find it states the bleedin' obvious a bit(although good for newcomers to frugality) and find the whole 'Miss Moneypenny' thing a bit contrived. I like the 'real people' tips best, except for the chap with the carpet grippers as I used to have cats...I dread to think of the pain and vets bills....Dismayed that they started the programme more or less telling folk to throw stuff away if it hasn't been eaten by its 'use by' date...I was so incensed I was moved to rant on my blog about it.
Miss Moneypenny alias Dr Heather Mcgregor (former stockbroker and investment banker)was on sky news yesterday talking about bankers bonuses,so she is very contrived.Doubt shes a superscrimper at all.0 -
I was a bit worried about the tip of making the hole in the teat of babies bottles bigger with a needle as the baby got older. Am sure the sizes are graded, and would hate to think of an infant choking becuase it took more milk than it could handle.0

I suspect that would be apparent within seconds tbhThat's what was done for decades with the rubber teats....as long as you're careful babies soon either get the hang of it or you get drenched
I remember doing it with my little ones...though with us they were Av£nt teats which had1, 2, 3 or 4 holes in (rather than bigger holes they had more iyswim). They are the very devil's job to tell apart when you are moving the babies on to the next size and have a mix of teats.....

This pouncing on the smallest and most correctable mistakes- I read all the time and painstakingly am teaching myself to write is enough to make me lurkulicious instead of postalicious on here. More likely to employ my ability to suss out people than being at ease on a thread.
