I don't want this to come across as rude, but it's driving me barking (I'm petty like that)...are you spelling quality the wrong way on purpose because there is some new fangled meaning I'm missing? It's mispelled in your name, post and signature and driving me mad...sorry :o

It drives me mad, too! I just think she can't spell quality.

Well that would be oversensitive. We are just remarking on something that annoys us. However it is not as bad as the user called Abbafan, I can't read that username without thinking about Aberfan, who wants to be reminded of a truly terrible disaster every time they read one of her posts?

However surely she is aware of the fact that she always spells quality incorrectly and perhaps as a result should have picked a different username. I always misspell soceity ( see!) so would never call myself newsoceity or some such!

Believe me you will soon learn that this comment is nothing on MSE!

So someone can't call themselves what they choose - it could equally have been - elvisfan/clifffan/sinatrafan - showing my age here.

Ofcourse they can, but I am reminded every time - and ofcourse clifffan would not remind me of the disaster it is the whole word - say it to yourself, it sounds very similar to Aberfan. Similarly if I had to rename myself I wouldn't call myself patchworkcat after my DD's favourite book at the time as people assume I like Patchwork (I don't) cats(I do) and I would rather be more anonymous and not have people prejudge me based on my user name.

Ok, back to the topic - did anyone think that the tip about turning the oil from sundried tomatoes into a salad dressing less than frugal? I thought it was a real waste, because I tend to put just a dribble of the oil over green leaves / mix in with grains for added flavour. The flavour is so concentrated that using it up in one go is not very efficient IMO, I can get a lot of use out of that same volume. The days of buying a jar of sundried tomatoes for less than 99p are long gone, after all!

Oh no, it never occurred (spelling?) to me to compare/think of Aberfan (the f sounds like a v) with Abbafan. And I was in Wales at that time, not far from the disaster too. But now...!!!!.

And who is to judge over who is being "oversensitive" or not. I hate being told I'm oversensitive. I am as entitled to my hurt feelings as the rest of people. :D

as for sundried tomato oil, I am ashamed to say I have thrown it away in the past. :o Not that I buy them anymore. Too expensive.

Seriously ginger tony having read many of this person's posts she will not be offended or put off posting. Her circumstances are not good but she seems to try at every turn to p*ss people off. And I wouldn't be at all surprised if the spelling mistake is deliberate and she's having a great laugh that we're bothering to think about/respond to her.

The misspelling does really irritate me too by the way.

On the Abbafan name, I have to be honest as a good Welsh girl (I wish) should, that I always read it as the person is a fan of Abba. The fact that the town of the cruel mining disaster is pronounced 'abervan' means I would never ever associate the two.

    All the best,

That's as may be but it doesn't make it right or polite.
