That £50 food budget was just for their evening meals! Did anybody else notice that? Would have been more of a challenge if it was for breakfasts and lunches too!0

horrified what they bought with their £50 dinner budget, tropicana, vimto, paxo, that's what i managed to see. then she's using store cupboard stuff too. no wonder these people spend so much on food. "not many carrots, i'd go get another bag"

I suppose they thought it would be one step too far to expect a family who spent that much previously should suddenly start cooking everything from scratch and not buy convenience rubbish - too much too soon.
Funny how every ad break has included an ad for some sort of convenience food - fish in sauce, ready porridge etc.
Trouble is, however much it seems like common sense, it obviously isn't to some people. The husband is a financial advisor too!!0 -
£16 for sunday dinner - that was the 'after' meal too..what on earth were they eating??People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

They spend £200 a week on food/groceries. Something should have told her before now that was way over the top!“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

We were shocked too. From the looks of their cupboards they could have eaten for next to nothing. Also surprised at the "Guess that'll be wasted" comment over the pasta bolognese...do you not eat lunch/have a freezer lady!?
We had a giggle that his previous job was financial advisor when they were struggling yet overspending on food by at least £500.
Mrs MandM was v. excited that they were in High Wycombe for the appliances bit :rotfl:0
