  • I'm in the middle of watching the second one now, watched the first one last night with my mother. I liked the candle bit, thinking of making one, just not in a glass bowl lol.

I live in the town where the market stall is on the second one and i can never get things as cheap as she did. The meat van usually does a good deal for me but not that good, same with the fruit n veg guy really.

I get more tips from coming on here though in all honesty than watching that programme.

Just watching the first one now. I wouldn't bother faffing about putting herbs in ice cube trays - just put them in a plastic container as they are.

People are always saying to put herbs in ice cube trays with wter - if you use a little oil instead the herbs won't get freezer burn and their flavour is better preserved

More about your signature than your post. So :rotfl: I have pinched it and put it as my Facebook status. :D Yes, I know, but it's useful for keeping in touch with people and I don't engage in the dreadful aps for everything..... or have a list of thousands of friends......
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

I'd stopped watching this as I think it is such rubbish but I just watched a bit from last night's one about dog food. I am amazed and disgusted that they recommended Bakers dog food just because it was cheap. It is full of additives and colourings and vets will tell you how bad it is for your dog.

I read your comment before I watched this week's episode.

I don't think they recommended Bakers just because it was cheap.
They did speak to a vet with pet health qualifications and she talked about protein content and other stuff.
Asda cheap scored worst, with Bakers 2nd and Iams top - in both nutrition tests.

Iams failed in the 'taste' test - what a load of cobblers that was - as only one dog (out of 12 !!!!!!!) chose Iams.
5 chose Asda and 6 chose Bakers.

Which to me just goes to show that dogs (and cats) will eat anything that happens to just take their fancy at a particular moment, whether it's good for them or not.

I don't think I would change to Bakers on the strength of that test.

The Welsh couple who cooked the meal for a tenner where clearly not short of a bob or two.

A glance round their beautiful chic home proved that.

They really didn't need to scrip and save.
  • I agree you get more tips on here than watching the show.We have a market but we can not get them that cheap either.
Did not like the table either no way allowed in our house.

From the first one the only good tip I got was the screw. The 'cheap meal' seemed a tad expensive - they could have fed them all with one chicken and more veg.

The second one - the loo cleaning is very expensive, and it doesn't tackle under the rim.

ETA - the handbag from a charity shop for £20, but worth £350,000!!!!
