I quite liked the idea of the HM Khalua...... I've been saving all my old sauce bottles for HM booze for gifts and that sounds like a good one.... I would however like to see more "tips" and a better look at the challenge rather than the consumer testing piece (as if I'm going to pay £6 for an Easter egg....). That said I miss Spendaholics and Alvin Hall ........ Livalot -I'd watch it on catchup up and fast forward through the boring bitsBut I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0

I was watching something else,Iwill catch up on 4od, even though I have found it very disappointing latelyBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

It was a bit better than the last rehashing series.
I wish they would stop doing the over-spender bits though. Who really cares if someone spends thousands on clothes then has only £50 to spend?0 -
There didn't seem to be much actual scrimping going on in last night's programme. I think they need to make up their minds what the series is supposed to be about and concentrate on that.
Yes, store-cards are expensive. Some young women who live at home with their Mum's spend all their disposable income on fancy shoes and clothes.
I realise a show featuring the things people on here do without thinking might be dull to some but I'd be interesting in seeing a series about how to shop, how to meal-plan, how to feed a family on fourpence ha'penny.
I really don't need to be told that luxury items can vary hugely in price and quality. And have to watch the blighters scoffing them0 -
I watched it but I dont know why I bother. I agree with the poster above, Alvin Hall and Spendaholics were so much better! Bring them back!0

Watched it, much to the amusement of OH and DS3, who thought it was hilarious.....neither of them scrimpers of any kind. Nothing learned though, maybe somebody trying to get themselves into scrimping might find it useful

That's what I'd like to see!
I watched it as it was a new series but I think I must be some sort of masochist because I find Mrs M irritates me intensely. I won't watch it live, just recorded and flick through all the boring bits, adverts, repeated sections etc.
I think I'm right but the big, orange hat seemed to have disappeared but Mrs M is as big as ever!
I thought the Easter egg thing was ridiculous. How are you supposed to know whether the chocolate is shiny (and so good quality) when it's all wrapped in foil? How could the testers compare when they only tasted one sort? I was just rolling my eyes at the screen. I know that Lindt chocolate is good and I also know that they have lovely packs of Lindt chcolate bunnies, sheep, carrots, chicks etc in the 99p shop!
One tip I will try (so that's about a minute from a 30 minute programme) was the cleaning the radiators and wiping down with tea tree oil. I think I'd like the smell.0 -
The radiator part had me wondering what 'expensive supermarket cleaning products' everyone else is using on their radiators..? Mine get a wipe over with a damp cloth if I spill my coffee down them and a dust down the back when they first go on after the summer and the smell reminds me!
As for the Easter egg thing, surely that's just personal taste anyway. I know Cadbury isn't the 'best' chocolate but it's the one I like best so I buy that (the price and offers are just a bonus). The sproglets are philistines anyway and love anything with a favourite character plastered across it. They also didn't look at the very budget friendly Aldi Lindt copy which looks lovely and only lasts 5 mins with my kids.0 -
I watched it and tried the tip with the moisturiser on DDs school shoes, and they came up better than with shoe polish ( though filthy again this afternoon). I don't find anything that useful on there either. I think i hadn't heard of the two mobile sites mentioned either, and that was about it.GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £148.90/150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month. Alvin was brilliant! You don't see him much these days. I wonder if he's gone back to the States now?0
