There are no protests or trucks blocking refineries because it didn't work the last time. Just caused a massive pain in the backside for everyone that needed to get to work etc
  • It is the Government's fault we pay so much for fuel though... they could reduce duty on fuel quite easily.

And reclaim the lost revenue from where?

Happy to pay more PAYE? VAT?

My local garage charges 136.9 a litre now. It's absolutely disgusting and someone needs to arrange a national protest, preferably a large organisation who has the resources to arrange something like that and get the word out.

The government is getting away with charging to much duty and tax on it because we keep paying it, so they'll continue on pushing to see how much they can squeeze out of us.

No doubt there will be more and more people turning to red diesel. I would if I knew the right people (PM's welcome).

The useless tat in Buckingham Palace would raise a few hundred million no doubt.

Nope, you are not alone....same here.
  • Ha ... thought so!

Googling the phrase "Budget 2011: Petrol duty cut" indicates that the official thread perhaps never got started :p ... and the most important consumerist backlash on a broken promise story this week has almost passed MSE by!

Someone had better tell MSE Guy and have this thread transplanted perhaps ;)
