You can't blame the government for that.0 -

Are you lot for real? Have you even read the thread?

At no time was I blaming the Government for only having two garages within a 10 miles radius.0 -

No but you are trying to blame the government throughout this thread.0 -
It is the Government's fault we pay so much for fuel though... they could reduce duty on fuel quite easily.0

1p in duty reduction is a joke anyway. It needs to come down by about 15p to have much effect!
The fact the budget's biggest headline was a frickin penny off (which turned out to be 0.6p on the ground) says everything about this lot in power.0 -

Partly.
But can you imagine the jump in prices percentage wise if there had been no duty. Prices would have jumped more than 10 fold in the last 12 years (OK from a very low base when oil was £10/barrel)0 -
I've just paid 126.9p a litre for unleaded at Sainsburys. It was packed solid. A nearby Shell, which normally has the same price, was 130.9p.0

Yeah 1p reduction in duty, I pass about 5/6 different fuel stations on the way to work and not one has dropped their price since yesterdays announcement. This 1p saving(yet to be seen anywhere)works out at a whopping 50p in an average tank saving, big !!!!!!!g deal. I just can't understand how several years ago when fuel was sitting about 80/90p a litre we were all taking to the streets and roads in protests, here we are 60 odd pence of an increase and no-one is doing anything.
For me it's still cheaper to take the car to work as well. Thanks to all the competition posters.0
